Santiago Ponzinibbio makes pick for next opponent, not interested in Darren Till fight

Tom Taylor - November 18, 2018

After his crushing, fourth-round KO of Neil Magny in the UFC Argentina main event, Santiago Ponzinibbio wants a shot a UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. That being said, it doesn’t sound like the Argentine knockout artist expects to get his desired fight with the welterweight king. Woodley essentially told Ponzinibbio to get in line post-fight, and now the streaking Argentine feels like he’s being ducked.

Darren Till announces he is moving to middleweight, but welterweight return is possible

Tom Taylor - October 3, 2018

After struggling with the cut down to the welterweight division’s 170-pound limit, and losing his long-awaited title fight with UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, Darren Till says he is headed up to the middleweight division. “I’m a big dude for welterweight to be honest, so that’s probably going to be my last fight at that weight,” Darren Till said in an article he penned for PaddyPower. “Welterweight isn’t fully gone for me, but I’m going to be happy going up to middleweight now and I’ll be strong at that weight not having to cut as much weight.”

Nutritionist is confident Darren Till can hit 170 pounds "with ease" for years to come

Tom Taylor - September 13, 2018

One of the big worries ahead of UFC 228 was that main event title challenger Darren Till might not make the 170-pound limit for his fight with welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. The Brit had missed weight previously, after all, most recently for his May welterweight bout with Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. In the end, of course, Darren Till did even better than hit the 170-pound limit for welterweight title fights. He surpassed it, tipping the scales with a pound to spare at 169 pounds, instantly silencing his legions of doubters and skeptics.

Darren Till's nutritionist is "110 percent" confident he'll make weight for UFC 228 main event

Tom Taylor - September 6, 2018

This Saturday, in the main event of UFC 228, undefeated British contender Darren Till will battle Tyron Woodley for the UFC welterweight title — that is, if Till makes weight. Till has failed to make the welterweight division’s weight limit in the past, and heading into this fight with Woodley, there’s been widespread worry he’ll miss his mark again, which would make him illegible to win the title. In the opinion of Till’s nutritionist, Eoghan Gallagher, a protege of famed MMA nutritionist George Lockhart, there’s no cause for concern with respect with Till’s weight cut. Speaking to MMA Fighting at the UFC 228 fighter hotel in Dallas, Texas this week, Gallagher assured he’s “110 percent” sure Till will be on weight on this fight.
