UFC 329 | Pro fighters make their picks for Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2

The UFC is in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a stacked UFC 329 card that serves as International Fight Week. In the main event, Conor McGregor makes his return to the Octagon to take on Max Holloway in a rematch of their 2013 fight, but this fight is now at welterweight instead of featherweight. Heading into the bout, McGregor is a +176 underdog while the Hawaiian is a -230 favorite on FanDuel.
Ahead of the bout at UFC 329, BJPENN.com reached out to several pro fighters to get their predictions for the welterweight scrap. Although Holloway is moving up to welterweight, the pros expect the Hawaiian to get the win, as they expect him to take over in the later rounds after early success by McGregor.
BJPENN.com Fighter Picks Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway:
Mario Bautista, UFC bantamweight: I am going to go with Max Holloway on that one.
Terrance McKinney, UFC lightweight: Max Holloway for sure. I think the way his last fight went last time, he’s looking to show people he still has it.
Kyle Daukaus, UFC middleweight: It’s interesting because it is at welterweight and Max is more of a ‘45er. Conor’s power will be there, and I do think he could wrestle and try to show off his strength and size. But I do think Max gets it done.
Adrian Yanez, UFC bantamweight: Holloway. He’s been more active and can take over late.
Youssef Zalal, UFC featherweight: Man, I’m a huge Holloway fan. He’s one of my favorite fighters, but I wonder how he will do at welterweight. Conor’s still an elite striker. But, I do think Max gets it done, I think it will be closer than some think.
Marcus McGhee, UFC bantamweight: Conor’s coming off a huge layoff, which leaves me with some questions about him and how he will do. So, I will take Max, and I think he can take over in the championship rounds and get a TKO.
Modestas Bukauskas, UFC light heavyweight: I do think ring rust is real. But I do wonder how Holloway will look at welterweight and deal with Conor’s power. However, I do think Holloway can get a decision or a late TKO win.
Khaos Williams, UFC welterweight: You can’t count out McGregor. He’s ready to return. However, Holloway has been active, and I think he can take over in the later rounds, even though it is at welterweight.
