Dana White not so confident on whether Conor McGregor will fight again after Mayweather bout

Conor McGregor is already one of the highest-paid stars fighting in the UFC and could potentially make more in this single boxing match against Floyd Mayweather than he has in his entire mixed martial arts career. UFC President Dana White stated early on when negotiations were still going on that he estimated with his predicted numbers on how the fight sells, “The Notorious” would likely make around $75 million and Mayweather would make over $100. McGregor believes he will make over $100 million given that White’s estimates were based on conservative numbers for how the fight sells and didn’t include endorsements and his other business ventures that are tied to the mega money boxing match.

Tuesday afternoon at the first Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor press conference, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and undefeated boxing icon Floyd Mayweather came face to face on-stage for the first time in front of a packed Staples Center. During his opening speech, McGregor asked the cameras to zoom in on his suit, because the pinstripes allegedly said “fuck you”. Cameras were unable to zoom in enough for viewers to tell whether the suit did truly say “fuck you”. Following the event however, hi-res photos of McGregor’s suit began to emerge.

Tuesday at the first Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor press conference, the pair kicked off their world tour, as well as begun their trash talk for the highly anticipated event. McGregor spoke to the audience in attendance at the Staples Center first, before then passing the microphone over to Floyd Mayweather Jr. Mayweather continued the war of words, as he launched several scathing attacks at the UFC champion, who had his mic cut during Mayweather’s speech. When the pair came face to face for their first staredown at the end of the press conference, it was clear that the trash talk had only just begun as the pair continued to talk trash face to face.

When Conor McGregor steps into the boxing ring with Floyd Mayweather on August 26, he’ll be short on advantages. One clear advantage he does have, however, is his age. He’s a relative fresh 28, while Mayweather is now 40 years old. During the Los Angeles stop of the Mayweather-McGregor world press tour, Mayweather spoke candidly about his age, and how it’s effecting his training. Last night, at a crowded press conference inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather met for the first time. It was entertaining affair, highlighted by some memorable trash talk and a fairly intense staredown. The staredown, of course, would have been much more enjoyable if we could have heard what the two fighters were saying to each other. Luckily, McGregor broke down the exchange in a post-fight chat with Ariel Helwani.

Tuesday afternoon, Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather will hit the stage for their highly anticipated first press conference prior to their showdown on August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena. The fight is being dubbed the ‘Fight of the Century’ and has led to both men predicting that they will finish the fight early, with Mayweather’s coach predicting that Mayweather will end the fight within three rounds, while Conor McGregor recently promised Dana White that he will hand Floyd Mayweather his first professional loss within the first four rounds of the fight.

Conor McGregor‘s blockbuster boxing match with the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. is now just a month and a half away, and it seems to be all anybody is talking about. The latest member of the MMA Community to weigh in on this groundbreaking showdown was three-time UFC title challenger and current Bellator light heavyweight star, Chael Sonnen. Sonnen chimed in on the fight on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour. One of the more interesting takeaways from Sonnen’s discussion of the fight came when host Ariel Helwani asked if the Irishman McGregor had any chance against the boxing star.

On Monday, ESPN revealed that Mayweather filed a Tax Court petition on July 5. This petition asks the IRS to give him a reprieve until his August 26 mega fight with UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, which could see both men pocket north of $100 million. The petition also asks for the IRS to reduce the penalty for Mayweather’s tardiness on paying his taxes. “Although the taxpayer has substantial assets, those assets are restricted and primarily illiquid,” the petition said, according to the legal website Law360. “The taxpayer has a significant liquidity event scheduled in about 60 days from which he intends to pay the balance of the 2015 tax liability due and outstanding.”
