VIDEO | Tyron Woodley Isn't Letting Conor McGregor Slide For Using a Slur
Justin Golightly - November 4, 2017
By now, it’s common knowledge that Conor McGregor let some choice words fly after his right hand hand Artem Lobov lost to Andre Fili at UFC Gdansk. It’s by far no the first time McGregor has said something controversial, but it seemed like it was the last straw with some people and turned into the biggest story of the card. It’s worth it to note that the UFC champ champ has since released a public apology, but that isn’t enough for Tyron Woodley who thinks he’s gotten way too many passes as it is. “I’m fired up about Conor McGregor. He was using homophobic slurs. How many passes do we give this dude? That’s like the person that drops the ‘N’ bomb and says ‘I’m not racist, I’ve got three black friends and I had them over for dinner last night’. I gave him a pass during the Floyd Mayweather fight. He was using the term ‘boy’ [and] ‘monkey, words that have had very, very negative racial undertones in the past but I’ve got a problem with this. When you’re a celebrity of that stature and you’re making that kind of money, you need to have a PR person on staff and you need to have a bit more of a social conscience when you’re saying things.”

Dana White Says 'We'll Get It Done' Despite Conor McGregor's Demands
Justin Golightly - November 3, 2017
We don’t have any answers, but the Conor McGregor fight wheels have been turning for the last couple of weeks. The opponent seems like it is nearing closer to becoming Tony Ferguson, but that’s only half the battle. The UFC champ champ has addressed the media and made his behind-the-curtain UFC demands public. He wants to be both a fighter and promoter for the UFC as it pertains to his own fights. He wants to be a ‘true partner’ like the organization was for his boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather. Yesterday at the last UFC 217 press conference, it seemed like Dana White is ready to give him whatever he wishes. “There’s always been, as we go into negotiations with Conor [McGregor]. There’s always all kinds of crazy stuff out there. We always get deals done with Conor. Conor, he’s been easy to deal with and we’ll get it done.” — Dana White at the UFC 217 pre-fight presser.

BREAKING | Conor McGregor Says He Feels Like Tony Ferguson is Next
Justin Golightly - October 31, 2017
Everyone has been talking about it since UFC 216. Many prominent figures involved and not involved directly with Conor McGregor and Tony Ferguson has said that the belts must be unified. The manager of both fighters has revealed he believes their confrontation is ‘inevitable’, that it is only a matter of time. According to McGregor himself, this may be sooner rather than later. He just dropped a bombshell that, not only does he feel Ferguson is next, but they are currently negotiating the contract. “I’ve got everyone clawing at me, trying to get at me, and that’s from multiple sports, multiple organizations, multiple everything. It’s been like that for a long, long time, I feel, so it’s just another day for me. I know there are many contenders in the UFC. There are many boxing contenders as well. What interests me is certainly a UFC bout, certainly a defense of my lightweight title. There is a fighter with the interim lightweight belt. I feel that [Tony Ferguson] will be next. We’ll see how negotiations go.”
Conor McGregor's Manager Says a Tony Ferguson Fight is 'Inevitable'
Justin Golightly - October 31, 2017
Even before Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor boxed, Nate Diaz was the clear choice for the champ champ’s UFC return. Slowly, as Diaz haunts the division out of sight, the front-runner became Tony Ferguson. Dan Hardy has said Tony Ferguson is the fight, Eddie Bravo wants his protege to have the shot, even Dillon Danis wants McGregor to fight T-Ferg. None of their opinions though, mean quite as much as this one. Both Conor McGregor and Tony Ferguson’s manager Audie Attar says their fight will definitely happen, he just didn’t reveal if it’s next or not. “The sport is one where they’re going to compete. If you have clients in the same weight class, and they’re the top of the division, they’re going to meet. With Tony [Ferguson] and Conor [McGregor], it’s inevitable. You have the lightweight champ and the interim lightweight champ, so that’s a fight that’s naturally going to happen. I can’t say [who McGregor will fight next]. Here’s what I will tell you: Tony earned a shot at the belt. He won the interim lightweight title.”

Joe Duffy Thinks McGregor Should Fight Ferguson for the Sake of UFC Rankings
Justin Golightly - October 28, 2017
You may remember that Joe Duffy is a former opponent of Conor McGregor, the UFC used this fact as promotion when they first signed the Irish lightweight. Up until meeting Nate Diaz, Duffy was the last man to not only submit McGregor, but beat him in MMA. That was seven years ago back in Cage Warriors, but Duffy still can’t escape being forever entwined with McGregor. He was recently asked who the champ champ should fight next. His answer, like many others, is Tony Ferguson. “I think for the ranking’s sake, I think obviously Conor [McGregor] against [Tony] Ferguson is the right match. It kind of legitimizes the rankings again. I believe that’s probably the right match at the minute. It will stabilize the division again and at least we’ll have a pecking order again so you know where you stand and what you need to do to get to the top of the pecking order.”
Even Dillon Danis Thinks Conor McGregor Should Fight Tony Ferguson Next
Justin Golightly - October 27, 2017
Conor McGregor has his pick of anyone he’d like to fight in MMA or in boxing. For awhile, it seemed like a done deal that McGregor would come back to the UFC and fight Nate Diaz a third time, but at lightweight this time. That seemed to change after UFC 216. More and more the answer everyone is picking for him is Tony Ferguson. Dan Hardy wants it, Eddie Bravo wants it, and now even training partner Dillon Danis thinks it’s the new interim UFC lightweight champion who gets the nod. “I would think Tony Ferguson next because he won and Conor [McGregor] is gonna’ defend the belt and stuff like that. And me knowing Conor, Tony Ferguson is talking a lot of shit and I know Conor is gonna want to shut him up. So, I can see that happening. […] I think a lot of people think that Tony is a tough match-up for him, and I think he would wanna prove people wrong there. He already beat Nate, so I could see that, but at the end of the day It’s his choice and whatever he thinks. But for me knowing him, I think he likes to prove people wrong and that could be the Tony fight.”
