Earlier today UFC welterweight champion of the world Tyron Woodley took to Instagram where he announced that he had started his training camp for a July return to the octagon.

“#TRAININGCAMP Starts #Today The next time I set foot in the #Octagon it will be 4 Title Fights in 12months. Starting with the Spirit, Mind, Soul and the Body will catch up. The fight outside the Cage has always proven to be tougher then the one inside. Time to win on both ends! @ufc #ufc #ChampCamp #AndStill #WhoGotMyBack !”

BJPENN.com’s Chris Taylor reached out to “The Chosen One” shortly following the post and asked him if he had an opponent booked for his July return.

“T-Wood” responded to Taylor with the following message, words of a true champion.

“I’m starting camp and not giving a f**k who the fight is against or what it pays! I am the best! It is time to prove it no matter the pay or what people say!”

Shorty after Woodley’s announcement, rumors began swirling that a potential super fight with current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor was in the works for July’s blockbuster UFC 213 pay-per-view card.

BJPENN.com’s Chris Taylor reached out to “The Chosen One” for comment and Woodley responded to the rumor with a “LOL”.

MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani put the Conor McGregor vs. Tyron Woodley to rest on the MMA Hour stating the following.

The welterweight champion of the world, Tyron Woodley, was most recently seen in action at last month’s UFC 209 event in Las Vegas where he scored a majority decision win over Stephen Thompson, thus retaining his 170-pound strap.

Woodley has gone 4-0-1 over his past five fights, scoring wins over Carlos Condit, Kelvin Gastelum, Robbie Lawler and Stephen Thompson in that time.

Tyron Woodley stated that he plans to return at UFC 213 on July 8 in Las Vegas during a recent interview with BJPENN.com (see that here).
