Carlos Ulberg reveals he lost his UFC belt just days after shocking UFC 327 KO win

Newly minted UFC light heavyweight champion Carlos Ulberg might need a new belt after apparently losing it just days after UFC 327.

Carlos Ulberg pulled off one of the most miraculous come-from-behind wins in recent UFC history when he knocked out Jiri Prochazka at UFC 327 last weekend. After suffering a nasty leg injury just minutes into Round 1, Ulberg knocked out Prochazka with one punch to win the vacant UFC light heavyweight title.

It was a culmination of years of hard work for Ulberg, who became the latest Oceanic UFC titleholder, joining the likes of Alexander Volkanovski and Jack Della Maddalena. After winning the title, Ulberg and his team enjoyed the fruits of their labor with a wild afterparty in Miami.

While celebrating, Ulberg unintentionally turned into his former self, a fighter without a world championship belt.

In a recent interview with Fox Sports Australia, Ulberg revealed that the whereabouts of his UFC light heavyweight title are unknown.

“I’ve lost the belt, bro,” Ulberg said.

“I don’t know exactly where it is. Initially after winning, the plan was to not have a drink. But you know how these things go, right? First, someone gives you a champagne to celebrate. Then one thing leads to another and you’re doing shots. So it’s ‘OK, I’ll have another, and another, and another…’ We’ve got a big group of boys over here in Miami and, when the fight was done, we all went out to the afterparty at a nightclub.

“Then after that, it was back to one of the boys’ apartments and we all hung out there. I didn’t want to be carrying the belt around so I think it’s still there at the apartment somewhere,” Ulberg continued. “One of the boys probably has it in bed with him.” (h/t MMA Fighting)

As of this writing, it’s uncertain if Ulberg’s belt has been returned to its rightful owner. In the meantime, Ulberg will look to kick off a new era in the UFC light heavyweight division later this year.
