Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar returned to the octagon after a five-year layoff and was able to defeat perennial contender Mark Hunt via unanimous decision at last month’s UFC 200 event in Las Vegas.

Five days after the blockbuster event, the UFC was informed by its anti-doping partner USADA that Lesnar had tested positive for estrogen-blockers.

According to UFC officials, USADA did not get the test results back until July 14.

However, USADA could have gotten the results back quicker had the agency requested it be expedited.

Lesnar’s sample was sent to the UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory. Anthony Butch, the lab’s director, told MMAFighting through a spokesperson that expedited results can return in anywhere from two days to a week. The cost for an expedited result starts at $35 per sample with the cost rising for weekend and holiday testing. The maximum is $450.

Mark Hunt is not going to be a happy man when he hears this.
