Brock Lesnar reveals how he’ll deal with ring rust after a near five-year hiatus

By Russell Ess - June 16, 2016

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has not fought in the UFC since December 2011.

With his much-anticipated return to the Octagon next month at UFC 200, Lesnar will face the devastating striker in Mark Hunt and admitted to ESPN in a recent interview that he will have some ring rust.

“Is there going to be some ring rust? Are you out of your f—ing mind? Of course there is,” Lesnar said. “But maybe Mark Hunt can knock it out of me in the first 10 seconds and then he’s going to get his ass whooped.”

Although Lesnar obviously wants his return fight to be a success, he ultimately wants to put on a good show against a strong Mark Hunt.

“It boils down to me — if I want it or not,” Lesnar said. “But let’s worry about one thing at a time and knock on wood everything comes together and I get into the Octagon and I’m healthy and Mark’s healthy and we can put on a good performance.”
