UFC 325 Results: Benoit Saint Denis stops Dan Hooker (Video)

Hooker (24-14 MMA) will enter tonight’s contest looking to rebound, this after suffering a one-sided submission loss to Arman Tsarukyan in his most recent Octagon appearance this past November. Prior to that setback, ‘The Hangman’ had put together a three-fight win streak, which included victories over Jalin Turner and Mateusz Gamrot.

Meanwhile, Benoit Saint Denis (17-3 MMA) will enter tonight’s contest sporting a three-fight winning streak, his most recent triumph being a 16-second knockout victory over Beneil Dariush this past November at UFC 322. ‘God of War’ has earned finishes in all three of his most recent wins.

Round one of the UFC 325 co-main event begins and Dan Hooker comes forward with a pair of kicks. Benoit Saint Denis with a body kick. He leans in for a takedown but it is not there. He shoots again and this time Hooker locks up a guillotine choke. The fight hits the floor. ‘BSD’ scrambles and is able to escape the choke and get back to range. Saint Denis forces the clinch but can’t secure a takedown. ‘The Hangman’ with a pair of hard kicks to the body. Saint Denis swings and misses with a high kick. Another good kick to the body from Hooker. Benoit forces the clinch, but Hooker quickly breaks free. More pressure from the Frenchman. He forces the clinch. Hooker breaks free and is back to range. Another good kick from Dan Hooker. And another. Benoit Saint Denis with a left hook. He looks to take the fight to the floor but can’t do so. He attempts another judo throw and this time he is able to slam Hooker down to the ground. ‘God of War’ is working from side control now. 90 seconds remain in the opening round. Saint Denis looks for an arm. Hooker breaks free and scrambles back up to his feet. Big shots from both men. Hooker with an uppercut. Saint Denis shoots in and gets another takedown. A big cut has opened up on Dan Hooker. The horn sounds to end round one.

Round two of the UFC 325 co-main event begins and Benoit Saint Denis is quickly in on a takedown attempt. Dan Hooker threatens with a guillotine. That allows him to get back to his feet. Another takedown attempt. Hooker reverses but after another scramble ‘BSD’ is back on top. Big elbows from the Frenchman. He looks for a straight arm lock. Saint Denis gives up on that and drops in some hard elbows. He locks up an Arm triangle choke and Dan is in trouble. This is tight. ‘The Hangman’ trying to fight this off. ‘BSD’ transitions and now it is a deep choke hold. Two minutes remain in the round. Benoit Saint Denis moves back to full mount and begins unloading shots. He looks to try another choke hold but then opts to move back to strikes. Big elbows from ‘BSD’. This is close to getting stopped. Dan Hooker is a bloody mess. More ground and pound and this one is all over! WOW!
