Despite very nearly wrestling the UFC light heavyweight title from former champion Jon Jones, and then again in a war with current champ Daniel Cormier, Swedish light heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson is currently at a crossroads. He’s lost his last two fights, first succumbing to an Anthony “Rumble” Johnson KO, then coming up short against Cormier.
This Saturday, when the UFC returns to Hamburg, Germany, Gustafsson has the chance to rebound from his current slump when he takes on Poland’s Jan Blachowicz in the evening’s co-main event. If he’s successful, it’ll be his first victory since a March 2014 defeat of Jimi Manuwa.
In the episode of UFC on the Fly above, you can watch Gustafsson prepare for this high-stakes bout with Blachowicz, and see how he stays busy when he’s not training.
Do you think the towering Swede can defeat Blachowicz and return to the contendership race this weekend? Sound off, PENN nation!
