According to a report from The Ring this Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury card is “expected to surpass 300,000 buys.” As The Ring’s report explains, that figure doesn’t include pay-per-view buys in the United Kingdom — of which there were certainly many — or digital purchases made on platforms such as Playstation 4.

In the 12th round of the fight — which was ultimately ruled a draw — Tyson Fury was knocked senseless by a crushing Deontay Wilder combination. Miraculously, however, the Brit was able to return to his feet, and in the eyes of many onlookers, went on to outperform Wilder for the remainder of the final round.

After ten fairly competitive rounds, Gvozdyk cranked up the offense in the 11th, and ended the reign of the long-time champion Adonis Stevenson with a snappy four-punch combo.

Last Saturday night, Oscar De La Hoya promoted his first-ever MMA event under the Golden Boy MMA banner. In the weeks leading up to this MMA card, which was headlined by a trilogy fight between UFC Hall of Famers Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell, there was plenty of reason to believe it was a one-off for De La Hoya. Yet according to Fernie Garcia, who fought on the undercard of the event, this is not the case. “I have heard that they are [going to do more MMA],” Garcia told BJPENN.com of Golden Boy MMA. “I have heard that the plan was for two events. So they are going to have two events. From what I know, they are going to have another event for sure.”
