Floyd Mayweather opens up on potential fights with Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov

Floyd Mayweather may be preparing for his upcoming exhibition fight with Tenshin Nasukawa, but that hasn’t slowed the amount of questions the undefeated boxing legend is being asked about potential fights with UFC stars Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Floyd Mayweather has already competed against Conor McGregor inside of the squared circle. “Money” ultimately defeated the Irishman via tenth-round TKO in their highly anticipated fight in August of 2017.

With that being said, a rematch between Mayweather and “Mystic Mac” would still likely garner huge interest amongst fight fans.

A second bout with Conor McGregor is not the only MMA-related fight fans are talking about. Current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov (27-0) has also been brought up as a potential opponent for Floyd Mayweather.

Despite the recent callouts and obvious interest, Floyd Mayweather seemingly shrugged off the notion of fighting either man during Thursday’s meeting with reporters.

“I’m the face of just combat sports period. Whether it’s boxing or MMA, I’m the face of it all.” Floyd Mayweather stated (via MMAJunkie). “I’m not even worried about those guys. Conor McGregor, he already know what happened with that. Khabib running his mouth. He wants to get in there, I’ll take care of him, too.”

Floyd Mayweather continued in regards to potential fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“If it happens, it happens. If it don’t, I’m still going to have a great life.”

As for his upcoming exhibition bout with Tenshin Nasukawa at RIZIN FF 14 on December 31, Floyd Mayweather insinuated that the contest means less than an amateur fight.

“It’s kind of like an amateur fight, but it’s not an amateur fight, because even amateur fights go on your record,” Mayweather stated. “This is not going on my record.”
