Controversial kickboxer Andrew Tate was arrested again this morning in Romania.

Andrew Tate

The popular influencer known by fans online as ‘Top G’ has had a massive groundswell in popularity over the last few years. For many combat sports fans, they might know Andrew Tate from his days as a kickboxer. He won Enfusion gold and even knocked out future UFC fighter Luke Barnatt in an amateur MMA fight.

However, Andrew Tate’s not really known for his fighting ability much. Instead, he’s become a popular influencer online, known for making controversial statements. In late 2022, Tate came under more fire as he was arrested for human trafficking in his adopted home country of Romania. After several months in police detainment, he was released.

Since getting out of jail last March, Andrew Tate has been back to his normal behavior. However, the kickboxer has now found himself in more legal trouble. Earlier today, Tate was arrested in Romania, relating to a UK warrant on suspicions of sexual abuse that occurred from 2012 to 2015. In 2019, the UK previously declined to press charges on the influencer for similar allegations.

Within a few hours, Andrew Tate was released, and he quickly appeared in an interview where he denied the allegations. According to several reports, fellow influencer Adin Ross reportedly played a role in the kickboxer’s arrest. The Kick live streamer stated earlier this week that Tate was planning to leave Romania, likely for good.

However, due to the terms of his house arrest, he wasn’t able to leave the country. As a result, Tate, along with his brother Tristian were arrested.

“We’re going to complete this judicial process.” Andrew Tate stated in an interview after his arrest. “I don’t think many of you in the media understood just how innocent we were at the beginning of this. We told everybody we were innocent and we know everyone says that. But we are actually completely innocent.”

He continued, “We’re very interested in completing the Romanian judicial process. As my brother quite rightly pointed out, the UK now as they’ve seen that we’re going to be found innocent in Romania have decided to try and weaponize Romanian courts. To put us back in jail, and that has failed. Justice has come through for us tonight, which is fantastic.”

While Andrew Tate was arrested on a UK warrant, he likely won’t stand trial on the charges until the conclusion of his first trial. As far as his fighting career goes, the influencer was linked to a boxing match with Jake Paul in 2022. However, since his legal trouble, his fighting career has been on hold.
