Israel Adesanya welcomes Jon Jones challenge

Israel Adesanya is currently working on conquering the UFC middleweight division, as he’s set to battle Kelvin Gastelum for interim gold at UFC 236. From the sounds of it, however, there could be a move to light heavyweight division in his future, as he’s recently been flirting with the notion of super fight with reigning champ Jon Jones. Speaking to Submission Radio recently, Israel Adesanya said that this is a challenge he looks forward to.

Husband pleads no contest in Rachael Ostovich domestic violence case

Back in November, UFC flyweight Rachael Ostovich was attacked by her husband Arnold Berdon, also an MMA Fighter. This grisly incident, which Ostovich was thankfully able to escape, left her in the hospital with a broken orbital bone. Berdon was initially charged with attempted murder, but this charge was later demoted to second-degree assault, a felony. He previously plead not guilty, but according to a report from MMA Fighting, has pleaded no contest. Per MMA Fighting‘s report, “the no-contest plea means Berdon will not contest the case, but he does not admit guilt. It is considered a conviction.”

Alleged phone-smash victim sues Conor McGregor

According to a report from the Associated Press, which has been confirmed by MMA Fighting, former UFC lightweight and featherweight champ Conor McGregor is now being sued by Ahmed Abdirzak, the man who’s cell phone he allegedly smashed in Miami on Monday. Abdirzak is seeking more than $15,000 in damages, accusing Conor McGregor of battery, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Following the shocking news regarding former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson yesterday, his wife Cristina issued a statement to UFC broadcast partner ESPN. “Tony Ferguson is a good husband and good father to our son. The current legal proceedings are a part of a process to ensure that Tony will receive the help necessary to continue being the best possible, as well as to pursue his passion and career as a UFC champion fighter. In hindsight, Till says he wasn’t in the right headspace heading into this fight with the incredibly dangerous Woodley, who has since lost the title. In fact, he says, he was looking right past Woodley.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, who has spent plenty of time in the public eye herself, understands why McGregor got frustrated but reminds that the fan was not breaking any laws.

Ahmed Abdirzak, the alleged victim who claimed Conor McGregor stole and broke his cellphone isn’t getting any sympathy from another former UFC champion. The former UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping chimed in on his Believe You Me podcast regarding the incident and feels the fight fan is blowing things out of proportion. “Look at Kanye West outside LAX,” Bisping said. “Kanye West grabbed someone’s camera and smashed it up. He never got arrested, though. So this guy’s – I’ll just say this guy’s a bit of a f—king dick, to press charges. He’s a very, very recognizable famous person. And by the way, I’m not jumping to his defense, (I’m) just being real. He has to deal with this shit on a daily basis, it must drive him up the f—king wall. And who knows?
