Friday afternoon in the United Kingdom, Bellator MMA held their highly anticipated Bellator 179 card, which played host to Rory MacDonald’s highly anticipated Bellator MMA debut against Paul Daley. MacDonald made quick work of his heavy handed opponent as he picked up a 2nd round submission win over Daley.

Following his loss to MacDonald, Daley called out fellow Bellator MMA star Michael Page in front of Page’s hometown fans.

Scott Coker spoke about the fight after the event, saying that Bellator could very well return to London this year for another event headlined by a scrap between Paul Daley and Michael Page.

Fortunately, no punches were thrown during the scuffle, however words were of course exchanged as Daley charged at Page following his post-fight cage interview.

After having a 5-fight win streak snapped by Douglas Lima at Bellator 158, Daley picked up an impressive win at Bellator 170 as he scored a flying knee KO over Brennan Ward. The win over Ward returned Daley to the win column before MacDonald then returned him to the loss column.

For Page, he remains one of Bellator MMA’s brightest prospects, compiling an impressive undefeated 12-0 professional record. While nearly all of Page’s wins have come by stoppage, ‘Venom’ was criticized following his most recent fight, where he picked up a lackluster split decision win over Fernando Gonzalez at Bellator 165 six months ago. Page was slated to fight Derek Anderson on the card, but was forced off the card with a knee injury.
