Yesterday the ‘UFC Fight Night: Hendricks vs. Thompson’ media day went down in Las Vegas. The event gave media members a chance to talk with the fighters on the card ahead of their scheduled bouts on Saturday evening in Las Vegas.
In the main event Johny Hendricks will look to return to the Octagon after a weight cutting mishap which forced him out of his UFC 192 fight with Tyron Woodley. It’s been nearly a year since Hendricks has been in the Octagon, with his last win coming over Matt Brown back at UFC 185. On the other side Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson will look to extend his 5-fight win streak in hopes of cementing his place in the top of the UFC’s welterweight division. Thompson is coming off a wheel kick KO win over Jake Ellenberger at the TUF: ATT vs. Blackzilians finale in July.
In the co-main event Roy Nelson will look to snap his 3-fight losing streak as he faces Jarod Rosholt. Rosholt on the other hand is riding a 3-fight win streak that most recently saw him defeat Stefan Struve via unanimous decision at UFC 193 in November.
