UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev wants to take on light heavyweight titleholder Alex Pereira before he defends his newly acquired belt.

The UFC’s planned event at the White House is just months away as UFC CEO Dana White prepares to host arguably the biggest card of his promotional career. Conor McGregor, Jon Jones, and Kayla Harrison are just a few big names who’ve called for a spot on the card with mixed results.

White has repeatedly said that he’ll start putting together the White House card in March or April, giving fighters a sufficient camp timeframe. Ahead of White’s preparations, another top name, UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev, wants in.

Chimaev and UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira were in brief talks to fight after Pereira won the middleweight belt at UFC 281. A potential matchup didn’t come to fruition at UFC 283 in Brazil, despite the two sides teasing it on social media.

Years later, Chimaev is rebooting his Pereira callouts and wants a showdown on the White House lawn.

Khamzat Chimaev implores Alex Pereira’s fans to convince him to fight at the White House

In a recent post to X, Chimaev called out Pereira for the UFC’s White House event.

“Let’s go White House,” Chimaev tweeted Monday.

“Don’t worry, I will finish you fast [Alex].”

In a follow-up, Chimaev sent a message to Pereira’s fanbase.

“All Brazilian fans tell this boy if you’re not scared tell him to fight [LAUGHS],” Chimaev said.

Just weeks ago, Pereira openly challenged Chimaev to a UFC BJJ matchup after both fighters won titles in their respective divisions. Pereira reclaimed the UFC light heavyweight belt by knocking out Magomed Ankalaev in their UFC 320 rematch.

While Chimaev hasn’t formally accepted Pereira’s offer, he’s looking to return to the Octagon later this year. Chimaev dominantly won the middleweight title against Dricus du Plessis at UFC 319, just weeks before Pereira’s victory.

Rumors are swirling that the UFC’s White House card could feature as many as seven title fights, a figure that’s been disputed and discouraged by multiple sides. In the meantime, Pereira and Chimaev could make a strong case for a super fight at the event.
