Nick Diaz has been enjoying his time off from fighting and it is surely showing in some of his recent interviews and guest spots on radio shows and podcasts.
Recently, the Stockton scrapper was a guest on The Jasta Show and recalled a hilarious story from when he was a teen growing up in Northern California where he just was beginning his training as a martial artist.
Diaz recalled the moment when he was with a girl who was just a friend at the time, who he wanted to be his girlfriend, went to go watch some fights at a local MMA event.
On the way to grab something to eat, Diaz was waiting in line to order as Rampage Jackson and his crew came in and got in line behind them (as he gives the background to the story starting at 3:05 of the video).
“So he walks up to this girl,” Diaz recalled. “I’m with this girl in line and they all come in behind us and he [Rampage] goes, ‘Yo, yo, is that your girl?’ I’m 16, 17,” Diaz said of his age at the time.
“She’s sitting right there and I kind of like her but she’s not [actually his girlfriend], so I’m not gonna say to him like yeah she’s my girlfriend. I’m like, ‘No, she’s my friend.’ And he goes, ‘Yo girl, yo girl, yo girl, what’s your style?’ And she’s all ‘What are you talking about? What are you talking about?’ And he’s all ‘Oh, doggy style, doggy style!’ Then, I was like, what! He was getting all hyphy on her right and I was just like oh man.
“I can’t say anything. I’m looking at this giant Rampage character and I’m like, ‘F**k’ and there’s another team of dudes.
Diaz recalled how his lady friend later complained that he didn’t say anything to Rampage when he was talking to her.
“I’m like, ‘Bitch, what did you want me to say?! What you want me to say to this guy?’ He was joking and he respectfully asked me, ‘Is that yo girl?’ and I was like ‘Uh, well, you know, I want her to be!’
