The UFC 238 main card was kicked off by a clash of ranked heavyweights, as former World Series of Fighting champion Blagoy Ivanov collided with Australian knockout puncher Tai Tuivasa.

This fight ended up being very entertaining, as both men had their moments throughout, and both seemed to be hurt on more than one occasion.

In the end, however, the judges awarded this one to Bulgaria’s Ivanov, leaving Tuivasa without the win he sought.

Speaking on his Instagram account post-fight, the ever entertaining Tai Tuivasa issued a quick statement on this setback. He apologized to his fans for the loss and congratulated a quote “tough c**t” Blagoy Ivanov on the victory.

“Sorry to all my fans and everyone back home on AUS faaark. 😤😤 this the fight business big props to @blagoyivanovmma he’s one tough cunt good win bruv. 🙏🏽 WESTERN SYDNEY SORRY GUYS I LOVE YALL”  – Tai Tuivasa on Instagram

With this setback against Ivanov, Tuivasa falls onto a two-fight skid — the first two losses of his MMA career. His next most recent defeat came at the hands of former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos.

At present, it’s not clear where the Australian will go from here, though he remains one of the heavyweight division’s most promising young talents.
