Sean Strickland slams ‘rat’ Khamzat Chimaev over leaked sparring footage: “You’re just a weak man”

Sean Strickland has taken exception to Khamzat Chimaev leaking footage of their sparring session.

Chimaev posted the clip on social media and wrote, “I am bullying weak people.” Most agree that there isn’t much to dissect from the video, but Strickland thinks it represents one of the things he dislikes about the UFC Middleweight Champion.

Speaking to reporters during his UFC 328 media day session, Strickland went off on Chimaev for posting the clip.

“That’s what I’m talking about,” Strickland said. “The guy’s just a little [expletive] rat, dude. One, I didn’t even know we were filming. Those were warmup rounds. Dude, you’re just a weak, weak man.”

When reporter Oscar Willis mentioned there wasn’t much to the footage, Strickland agreed and he poked fun at his attire during the spar.

“Yeah, but it’s also like what is the point? We’re light sparring. The shorts were a little questionable on my part, but they were Amazon. It was a bad angle, but hey, I like woman, he likes goats. I win there.”

Strickland believes his time sparring with Chimaev was limited because “Borz” didn’t want to face the someone who would push him.

“We’ve only sparred once, and I think we did a three-round spar,” Strickland said. “So, we sparred once, but I kept telling you this, dude. When I go to a gym, I want to spar the best guy. I wanted to spar him, but he would always just go beat up the lower level guys.”

On Saturday, Strickland will challenge Chimaev for the UFC Middleweight Championship. The title fight is scheduled to headline UFC 328 inside the Prudential Center in Newark. BJPenn.com will be bringing you live coverage of the event on the homepage.
