Sean Strickland doesn’t believe he’ll make amends with Khamzat Chimaev even after UFC 328.

Strickland is scheduled to challenge Chimaev for the UFC Middleweight Championship on June 9. The title fight will emanate from the Prudential Center in Newark.

There has been some bad blood going into the fight, with both the champion and challenger threatening to take things to the streets. Strickland has even warned Chimaev that if his team plans to jump him, they will get shot.

Speaking to reporters following an open workout, Strickland held firm in his stance that the beef with Chimaev has no end in sight (via MMAJunkie).

“The sh*tty thing is that whoever wins is going to have bragging rights, and whoever doesn’t is just going to have to f*cking eat sh*t until they die,” Strickland said. “That’s the worst thing about this fight. Say I go fight ‘Fluffy’ (Hernandez) and ‘Fluffy’ beats me, I raise his hand, I say you beat me, good job. Dricus (Du Plessis) beat me, I raise his hand, you beat me. But nah dude, I think me and ‘Cum shot,’ we die enemies.”

Strickland earned a title shot after stopping top contender Anthony Hernandez in the UFC Houston main event. Strickland turned in a stellar performance that was capped off with a knee to the body followed by ground and pound.

Chimaev hasn’t competed since dethroning Dricus du Plessis to capture the 185-pound gold back in Aug. 2025. “Borz” had almost 22 minutes of control time on his way to a unanimous decision win. Of course, that means the Strickland fight will be Chimaev’s first title defense.

Do you think things will get too out of hand in the buildup to Khamzat Chimaev vs. Sean Strickland? Are you expecting a post-fight brawl similar to the one following Khabib Nurmagomedov’s submission win over Conor McGregor? Tell us in the comments below.
