UFC heavyweight contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik has sent a message to Shamil Gaziev. ‘Bigi Boy’ returned in the main event of UFC Vegas 87 over the weekend. Back for the first time since a submission loss to Jailton Almeida last May, Jairzinho Rozenstruik returned to face Shamil Gaziev. The undefeated heavyweight prospect debuted in the Dana White-led company with a second-round knockout win over Martin Buday in December.

Mike Brown, the head coach of Dustin Poirier, has high expectations for his fighter’s UFC 299 scrap against Benoit Saint-Denis. Dustin Poirier is set to return to the Octagon to face Saint-Denis in a five-round co-main event fight on Saturday night in Miami. The bout will mark Poirier’s first since suffering a KO loss to Justin Gaethje last July. It’s a highly-anticipated matchup and Brown believes it will be the Fight of the Year as he’s expecting it to be a war.

Vinicius Oliveira thinks he already has what it takes to end the hype train of Umar Nurmagomedov. Oliveira and Nurmagomedov both had bouts on the UFC Vegas 87 card this past Saturday. Oliveira scored a KO victory over Benardo Sopaj thanks to a flying knee. Nurmagomedov survived an early knockdown to defeat Bekzat Almakhan via unanimous decision.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is now fresh off a TKO finish over Shamil Gaziev, and while he won’t be calling anyone out, he wasn’t afraid to namedrop some recognizable fighters. Rozenstruik vs. Gaziev headlined a UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas this past Saturday. It was “Bigi Boy” who earned the win before round five could begin. It was a much-needed victory for Rozenstruik, who was 2-3 in his last five outings before meeting Gaziev.

Following a successful return to the Octagon against Bekzat Almakhan this past Saturday, Umar Nurmagomedov wants to settle things with Cory Sandhagen. Nurmagomedov and Sandhagen were set to collide back in August 2023, but Umar was forced to pull out due to an injury suffered during training camp. He hopes to have the fight rebooked, and even has a date in mind.

The Octagon returned to Nevada for today’s UFC Vegas 87 event, an 11-bout fight card headlined by Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs. Shamil Gaziev. The highly anticipated heavyweight main event resulted in a TKO victory for Jairzinho Rozenstruik following the conclusion of round four. ‘Bigi Boy’ was able to stifle the grappling of Shamil Gaziev early and often in the fight and proceeded to pepper his powerful opponent with jabs and low kicks throughout the twenty-minute affair. After a lopsided five minutes in the fourth frame, Gaziev seemingly had no interest in continuing and the referee eventually stepped in and called a stop to the contest. It was a disappointing ending, but still a solid and impressive performance from the veteran.

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 87 event was headlined by a heavyweight bout featuring Jairzinho Rozenstruik taking on Shamil Gaziev. Rozenstruik (14-5 MMA) had entered the bout looking to rebound, this after suffering a submission loss to Jailton Almeida in his most previous effort last May in Charlotte, North Carolina. Prior to that setback, ‘Bigi Boy’ had earned a first-round knockout victory over Chris Daukaus (see that here).

Royval picked up the biggest win of his career last weekend as he beat Brandon Moreno by split decision in the main event of UFC Mexico City in a fight he took on short notice. With the win, ‘Raw Dawg’ called for a trilogy with Pantoja in May as he was ready to make a quick turnaround.

Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland has responded to Jake Paul. ‘Tarzan’ and ‘The Problem Child’ have been going back and forth for a few weeks now. Last month, Sean Strickland sparred with Rumble streamer Sneako, at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The influencer had been training boxing for a few months and decided to face the former champion. It went about as well as one would expect.
