Today’s UFC Vegas 87 main card featured the highly anticipated return of Umar Nurmagomedov who squared off with Bekzat Almakhan.

Nurmagomedov (17-0 MMA) was looking to improve his UFC record to a perfect 5-0 this afternoon in Nevada. The ‘Young Eagle‘ was competing for the first time since earning a first-round knockout victory over Raoni Barcelos in January of 2023.

Meanwhile, Bekzat Almakhan (11-2 MMA) had entered his Octagon debut sporting an eight-fight win streak, his most recent being a TKO victory over Yan Ferraz under the OKTAGON MMA banner.

Tonight’s ‘Nurmagomedov vs. Almakhan’ bantamweight bout proved to be another dominant performance from the undefeated contender known as ‘Young Eagle’. Despite getting dropped by a right hand in the opening minute, Umar Nurmagomedov quickly recovered and proceeded to dominate the next fourteen minutes of the fight. The Russian standout utilized his strong grappling skills to smother and overwhelm Almakhan on route to a lopsided unanimous decision win.
