Lerone Murphy has changed his stance dropping a majority decision to Movsar Evloev at UFC London.

Murphy and Evloev collided inside The O2 Arena on March 21. It was a pivotal featherweight clash with possible title implications. Murphy had a strong start as Evloev was wiling to engage with him on the feet.

Despite having a point deducted for accidental fouls, Evloev rallied enough to score the majority decision win. The score total have been heavily debated, and Murphy took to his YouTube channel to share his belief that the judges got it wrong (via MMAJunkie).

“UFC London this past weekend, I took my first ‘L,’ took it like a man, but I believe I should have got the nod,” Murphy said. “I believe I won the first three rounds. At worst, it was a draw. But with that being said, I believe it was a great fight. Both fighters fought well – high-level fight. Movsar fought a good fight, a smart fight. He was harder to hit than I thought, he didn’t leave many openings, but I believe I took the first three rounds.

“The third round, I took four minutes and 40 seconds of it, and he caught me with a shot which caught my eye, which is why the judges probably gave him that round. The fourth round, he got a point deduction so that was 9-9. So, I think 47-47 was probably a fair result, which would have been a draw, but I’m glad someone’s at least a winner, and Movsar is probably going to go on and fight for the title next. Maybe we run it back for the title at some point. That’s my goal.”

UFC CEO Dana White told reporters that he didn’t find the scorecards to be controversial. White didn’t promise a title shot for Evloev, but he did say the top-ranked featherweight is in a good spot.
