Cody Garbrandt fires back at hecklers following third straight knockout loss at UFC 235

Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt was looking to get back on track when he squared off with Pedro Munhoz at tonight’s UFC 235 event in Las Vegas.

Garbrandt (11-2 MMA) was coming off back-to-back stoppage losses to former teammate turned bitter rival TJ Dillashaw at UFC 217 and UFC 227.

Unfortunately for fans of “No Love“, tonight’s contest did not go as planned.

After a back and forth opening few minutes Cody Garbrandt appeared to be turning the tide in his favor after landing a flying knee.

The strike had Pedro Munhoz staggered, but “The Young Punisher” continued to stay in the pocket and throw bombs.

After some significant shots from both fighters, Munhoz connected with a heavy punch that sent Garbrandt crashing to the canvas (watch that here).

From there, Pedro Munhoz would unload some nasty ground and pound which forced the referee to step in and call a stop to the contest.

Following the conclusion of tonight’s UFC 235 main event, Cody Garbrandt took to Twitter where he fired back at some hecklers who were criticizing his decision to stand and trade with Pedro Munhoz.

“I got head butted and after the head butt I was on auto pilot, congrats to Pedro he stuck tough. I love this fight game. I’ll be back thank you to all my supporters means a lot!” – Cody Garbrandt after his KO loss at UFC 235.
