Pros react to Jon Jones defeating Anthony Smith at UFC 235
The UFC light heavyweight title was up for grabs tonight as Anthony Smith challenged Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 235.
Jones was coming off a third round knockout victory over Alexander Gustafsson in his most recent performance at UFC 232.
Meanwhile, Anthony Smith was previously seen in action at October’s UFC event in Moncton, where he submitted former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir.
As many expected, tonight’s UFC 235 main event was seemingly dominated by Jon Jones.
With that said, Anthony Smith proved why he nicknamed “Lionheart” as he fought through and incredible amount of punishment, and an illegal knee, to go the full five rounds with Jones.
“Bones” utilized a plethora of strikes mixed in with some timely takedowns to frustrate Smith for the better part of twenty-five minutes on route to a unanimous decision victory (watch the highlights here).
