‘Breaking news’…Sean O’Malley plays hilarious April Fool’s Day joke on his fans ahead of White House return

Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley played a brutal prank on his fans ahead of his upcoming fight at the White House.

One of UFC Freedom 250’s biggest fights pits former bantamweight titleholder Sean O’Malley against rising contender Aiemann Zahabi in a title eliminator matchup on the six-fight card. O’Malley will return to the Octagon after an impressive win over Song Yadong at UFC 324 in January, after back-to-back losses to Merab Dvalishvili.

After Petr Yan reclaimed the bantamweight throne by defeating Dvalishvili at UFC 323 in December, the door is back open for O’Malley to make another push towards the belt. His recent win over Yadong was the first step in a potential title pursuit.

Just weeks away from UFC Freedom 250, O’Malley and other fighters are basking in the humor of April Fool’s Day. As many around the world prank their friends, families, and co-workers, O’Malley got in on the action with a major announcement.

Sean O’Malley ‘announces’ UFC interim title fight vs. Aiemann Zahabi

In a recent video posted to X, O’Malley revealed his upcoming fight with Zahabi would be a high-stakes matchup.

“What’s up guys! Just got off the phone with Dana and Hunter. Suga vs. Aiemann at the White House, is for the interim title,” O’Malley began.

“It’ll be five rounds – Petr Yan is going to be out until next year with his back surgery, and right after he’s getting hair implants, so he’ll be out an extra few months.

“Aiemann and Suga, at the White House, have a good day.”

Several of O’Malley’s fans fell for it in the comments.

“Sick!!! Get that belt back bro,” one fan wrote.

“Source?” another said.

“And the champ is back!”

While, as of this writing, a belt isn’t actually on the line between O’Malley and Zahabi, it’s easily the biggest fight of Zahabi’s career in the Octagon. The streaking bantamweight earned wins over Jose Aldo and Marlon Vera in 2025.
