After weeks of rumors, it’s official. Ronda Rousey will return to action in the main event UFC 207, this December 30 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She’ll make her long-awaited return against Brazil’s Amanda Nunes, who won the UFC women’s bantamweight crown by submitting Miesha Tate at UFC 200. UFC President Dana White announced this long discussed bout on The Herd with Colin Cowherd.

After nearly a year away from the Octagon, former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will be making her highly anticipated UFC return at the UFC’s New Years Eve event on December 30th, UFC 207. While there has been no other fights announced for the card at the present time, Rousey vs. Nunes is expected to headline the event given that the pair will be fighting for Nunes’ belt in Rousey’s highly anticipated return to the Octagon.

Lately, talks of former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey making her return to the Octagon have begun to pick up more and more steamSe. These reports have gone as far as to reveal that Rousey will be returning to the Octagon before the end of the year. The last report that surfaced revealed that Rousey had been offered a title fight with newly crowned champion Amanda Nunes. Nunes, who won the belt back in July at UFC 200, picked up a spectacular 1st round KO win over Miesha Tate in her last Octagon outing. Since then there has been no word yet on when Nunes will return to the Octagon, however a fight with Rousey could very well make for a massive fight for her first title defense.

Given the length of the former champ’s layoff, many members of the MMA community were beginning to speculate that we’d never see her fight again. Yet a Rousey comeback is suddenly looking more and more likely by the day, and apparently, it could happen quite soon. The first whispers of the former champ’s return came from MMA insider @TalkMMA, who suggested that the UFC was working on a UFC 207 title fight between Rousey and the current champ, Amanda Nunes.
