Dana White: Rousey’s return will be bigger than McGregor vs. Diaz

This week, the UFC released the PPV ratings for UFC 202, where Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz had their highly anticipated welterweight rematch.

The PPV ranked as the 3rd biggest PPV event in UFC history, behind UFC 100, and UFC 196, where McGregor and Diaz had their initial meeting inside the Octagon.

Despite the fact that both times McGregor and Diaz have fought, they have broken UFC records, UFC President Dana White believes that when former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey makes her highly anticipated UFC return, it will be even bigger than McGregor vs. Diaz.

During a recent appearance on ‘The Herd’, Colin Cowherd asked White if Rousey’s return would financially be bigger than McGregor vs. Diaz, to which White responded “yes” without missing a beat. He continued:

“Ronda Rousey’s return will be the biggest PPV we do.”

There has been much speculation as to whether or not Rousey will ever return to the Octagon, given that her UFC debut has once again been postponed past the UFC’s inaugural event in New York in November.

White spoke about the status of Rousey’s return, saying:

“Ronda had a bunch of minor surgeries and they’re healing up and when they are, I’m assuming she’s going to fight.”
