Reinier de Ridder looking to beat Caio Borralho in ‘spectacular fashion’ to re-enter title talks after UFC 326

Reinier de Ridder knows the stakes are high for his UFC 326 fight against Caio Borralho.
de Ridder is coming off a stoppage loss to Brendan Allen in a fight that, had he won, he could have gotten a title shot. However, de Ridder believes that if he can pull off the upset against Borralho, he can re-enter the title talks.
“One hundred percent, I think it goes for both of us, whoever wins this one, and does it in spectacular fashion is right back in the title mix,” de Ridder said to MMA Junkie Radio. “There’s a lot of cool fights out there and all I have to do is put him away, and I think I’m lined up to get one of those fights again.”
Although de Ridder is coming off a disappointing loss to Allen, he said he’s fully healthy and expects to make a statement on Saturday.
Reinier de Ridder is expecting a tough fight against Caio Borralho
Even though de Ridder believes he has all the tools to beat Borralho, he knows it will be a tough out, as he knows Borralho is well-rounded, but it won’t be enough for him.
“He’s very measured is what I think his best trait is,” de Ridder said. “He knows when to pour it on, he knows when to take a step back, and that’s what he does very well. I don’t think he’s amazing anywhere so, he’s not the greatest grappler, he’s not the greatest knockout artist, but he is very measured, very well-balanced.”
Reinier de Ridder is 21-3 as a pro and coming off the loss to Allen. Before that, he scored a split decision over Robert Whittaker, a TKO win over Bo Nickal, and submission wins over Kevin Holland and Gerald Meerschaert in his UFC tenure.
