Former UFC fighter surfaces on Nepalese mountaintop after disappearing from social media

If anyone was wondering what happened to former UFC bantamweight Randy Costa, well, he’s just climbing a mountain in Nepal.
Costa competed for the UFC from 2019 to 2022, fighting six times in that stretch. While he parted ways with the promotion thereafter, he remained active on social media, frequently engaging with his fans. That is, until 2026.
After a busy year of posting on X in 2025, the former UFC fighter disappeared from the social media platform in 2026, leading at least one fan to check in.
Despite what you’d imagine is some spotty wi-fi, Costa actually responded to the fan, revealing that his is busy summiting his first mountaintop in the rugged country of Nepal.

“All good brother,” Costa wrote in response to the fan. “Currently in Nepal summiting my first mountain.”
“My life is one big side mission,” he added in a follow-up post. “I appreciate the love and checking in bro.”
Needless to say, we’re glad to hear the former UFC fighter is alive and well, and seemingly living his best life.
Costa lost his first fight in the UFC, suffering a submission defeat against Brandon Davis. He then won his next two fights in stunning fashion, knocking out Boston Salmon and Journey Newson in less than two minutes combined. Unfortunately, that success was followed by three-straight losses, and his exit from the roster.
Since leaving the UFC, Costa has stayed busy. In his first MMA fight outside the Octagon, he defeated Carlos Espina by knockout in less than a minute. He followed that with a bare-knuckle MMA win over fellow UFC vet Jason Knight, and a no contest in a rematch with Davis under the same ruleset. He then knocked out Nick Burgos in less than two minutes in the BKFC ring, before defeating Joe Penafiel in Muay Thai competition.
No news yet on his next fight, but we’ll let him get down the mountain first.
