UFC 327 Results: Paulo Costa KO’s Azamat Murzakanov (Video)

We have you covered for all of tonight’s UFC 327 results, including the co-main event between Azamat Murzakanov and Paulo Costa.

Costa (16-4 MMA) most recently competed this past July at UFC 318 in New Orleans, where he earned a unanimous decision win over Roman Kopylov. Prior to that victory, ‘The Eraser’ had suffered back-to-back decision losses to Sean Strickland and Robert Whittaker respectively.

Meanwhile, Azamat Murzakanov (16-1 MMA) will look to keep his perfect record in check when he takes to the Octagon this evening in Miami.  ‘The Professional’ most recently competed at October’s UFC 321 event, where he scored a first-round TKO victory over Aleksandar Rakic. Prior to that, the Russian standout had finished Brendson Ribeiro in the opening round at UFC 316.

Round one of the UFC 327 co-headliner begins and Paulo Costa comes forward quickly. Azamat Murzakanov side steps and then moves forward to take the center of the Octagon. Costa with a powerful inside low kick that sends Murzakanov down to a knee. The Russian gets up and lands a stiff jab. Costa with another inside low kick. He swings and misses with a straight right. Costa attempts a high kick. It misses the mark but a follow up body kick connects flush. Azamat Murzakanov leaps in with a left hand. Paulo Costa circles off the cage and gets back to range. He lands a low kick and then another hard blow to the body. Azamat complains of an eye poke. Costa disagrees. The referee allows a stoppage. Upon replay there was an accidental poke. We restart after a lengthy break. Costa lands a low kick. Azamat Murzakanov is pressing forward aggressively. Costa with an outside low kick. Now one to the body. Azamat gets inside and lands a pair of punches. Costa with more low kicks. Now a left hand and the Russian goes down. Paulo Costa jumps on him and lands in half guard. Big elbows from ‘The Eraser’ now a big shot. Azamat Murzakanov is back up and Costa rocks him with a right hand. The horn sounds to end round one.

Round two of the UFC 327 co-main event begins and Paulo Costa opens with a low kick. Azamat Murzakanov looking to apply some pressure. Costa throws a high kick that is mostly blocked. Another nice low kick from ‘The Eraser’. He is moving really well tonight and executing a high percentage of his shots. A body kick from Costa. The Russian gets through with a nice jab. Costa with a check left hook. Azamat Murzakanov charges in and lands a pair of body shots. Costa appears to be breathing heavy now. He lands a nice kick to the body. And another. Azamat with a big left hand over the top. A big body shot from the Russian. Now a 1-2. He rips the body of Paulo Costa with a big left hook. Paulo with a right hand. A huge uppercut from Azamat Murzakanov. He throws Costa to the ground. The Brazilian scrambles back up to his feet. A big uppercut and Azamat throws Paulo to the ground and locks up a scarf choke. Paulo Costa escapes and is able to scramble to his feet and lands a big knee to the body of the Russian who is now pressed against the cage. Azamat Murzakanov’s face is a bloody mess. Paulo with another knee to the body before the horn.

The third and final round of the UFC 327 co-main event begins and Paulo Costa lands a big head kick. That might have stunned the Russian. A big combination from ‘The Eraser’. Another head kick and now one to the body. Another head kick attempt is blocked. Paulo with another hard body kick. Azamat Murzakanov has an arm injury. Paulo Costa with a head kick and this one is all over! WOW!
