UFC parts ways with eight fighters

The UFC has trimmed its roster as eight fighters have been removed. On Monday evening, X account UFC Roster Tracker which tracks the UFC roster and who has been added and removed – revealed eight fighters have been let go. According to the account, Mike Breeden, Fernie Garcia, Luis Saldana, Denys Bondar, Daniel Lacerda, Mateus Mendonca, Tyson Pedro, and Jamie Pickett have all been removed from the UFC roster.

Sean O’Malley says he is still stunned Henry Cejudo was a UFC champion due to how dumb he was. Cejudo first won the UFC flyweight title in 2018 as he beat Demetrious Johnson by split decision. He then won the bantamweight title two fights later in 2019 to become a champ-champ to help cement his legacy.

Justin Gaethje was thrilled to see Benoit Saint-Denis get knocked out by Dustin Poirier at UFC 299. In the co-main event of UFC 299, Saint-Denis was fighting Poirier in a highly-anticipated lightweight bout. It was an intriguing matchup that many were torn on who would win. In the first round, Saint-Denis had a ton of success, and to begin the second round, he got ahold of Poirier’s back and looked like he was close to finishing him.

The longtime Bellator star faced Kevin Holland, in what promised to be a striker’s delight. However, Michael Page wound up dominating ‘Trailblazer’ on the feet. The newly-signed welterweight ultimately handed Holland a unanimous decision defeat.

The boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is eyed to be a real, professional fight. Last week, ‘The Problem Child’ and ‘Iron Mike’ signed a deal to fight in the boxing ring on July 20th. The two are set to headline a Netflix-broadcasted event, for the first time that the service has streamed a fight. The bout was announced as a heavyweight one, and the fight will go down at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

In the first round, Saint-Denis had a ton of success and to begin the second round, the Frenchman had Poirier’s back.

Shavkat Rakhmonov is responding to the callout from UFC 299 winner Jack Della Maddalena. This past Saturday, March 9th, at UFC 299, saw Jack Della Maddalena (17-2 MMA) defeat Gilbert Burns (22-7 MMA) by KO at 3:43 of Round 3 in a welterweight bout (see that here). Maddalena also earned a $50K fight of the night bonus.

UFC star Bo Nickal has received the honor of a place on the main card of next month’s UFC 300 pay-per-view. Next month in Las Vegas, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will put on one of its biggest events of all time. UFC 300 will feature some absolutely blockbuster fights and although it may not be quite as stacked as some would’ve hoped, nobody can deny that there are some incredible bouts on the card.

Ali Abdelaziz, the manager of UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev says Dustin Poirier can get the next title shot following his knockout win over Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 299. Poirier was coming off a KO loss to Justin Gaethje back in July and took on Saint-Denis in a fight which he was the underdog in. After a first round in which Saint-Denis had a lot of success, Poirier landed a big uppercut and followed it up to get a KO win in the second round.

Sean O’Malley had a run-in with Merab Dvalishvili backstage at UFC 299, but “Suga” didn’t even know it was the highly-ranked bantamweight he was speaking to. O’Malley turned in a stellar performance at UFC 299 against Marlon “Chito” Vera. It was O’Malley’s first UFC Bantamweight Championship defense, and it went as well as he could’ve hoped for. While “Chito” was one tough customer, O’Malley had success on the outside and his striking was on display for five rounds. He scored the unanimous decision victory.

Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall has given an emphatic response to Curtis Blaydes’ recent challenge. Blaydes was in action in the featured UFC 299 preliminary bout. He took on Jailton Almeida , and things went awry for the Brazilian in the second round. When Almeida went for a takedown, Blaydes rained down punches to knock his opponent out.
