UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones recently hospitalized a fan with really bad decision-making skills.
Currently, ‘Bones’ is on the sidelines healing for his next fight. Last March, Jon Jones ventured up to heavyweight to face Ciryl Gane in a bid for vacant UFC gold after Francis Ngannou left the company. The legendary quickly dispatched of ‘Bon Gamin’, scoring a first-round submission victory.
The win ended a three-year hiatus for Jon Jones, but he was quickly forced away from the cage. Following his title win, the heavyweight was scheduled to face Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 in November. Sadly, that bout was scrapped after Jones tore his pec in training just two weeks out. As a result, he’s been forced to the sidelines for upwards of six months.
During his time away from the cage, Jon Jones has enjoyed himself. In the last few months, the heavyweight has traveled to Thailand to train, and been seen at several fan meet-ups. However, one fan who recently met Jones at an event has to be questioning why he thought that was a good idea.
As first reported by HappyPunch, Jon Jones was seen leg-kicking a fan over the weekend. To the heavyweight’s credit, he seemingly held back on the first strike. However, the fan then wanted to get kicked again, and Jones was obligated. It seems that wasn’t the best decision.

The fan then had to visit the hospital, after meeting Jon Jones. To the young man’s credit, he wasn’t too upset about the incident and declined to say the exact injury he suffered. Still, the man showed his damaged leg from the hospital on crutches, and he had quite a bruise.
For whatever reason, Jon Jones is just the latest fighter to have a fan beg them to kick them in the leg. Just in the last few weeks, fellow stars Alex Pereira, and Jorge Masvidal have been seen in viral videos doing the same thing. Granted, nobody did it twice, as ‘Bones’ did in the video here.
Nonetheless, it seems that fans can look forward to the heavyweight’s impending comeback. Given his recent videos on social media showcasing his training in Thailand, we can expect Jones to return in the coming months.
While the champion suffered a torn pec in late October, he also got a minor elbow surgery earlier this year. As of now, Jones is expected to return this summer.
