MMA world reacts to the death of Kevin Randleman

The recent news of former UFC heavyweight champion Kevin Randleman passing away due to heart failure struck the MMA community out of nowhere. The 44-year-old MMA pioneer reportedly died of heart failure. According to Bleacher Report’s Jeremy Botter, Randleman went to the hospital with pneumonia, but ultimately passed away due to heart failure.

UFC Fight Pass has once again expanded their fight library! News surfaced Thursday evening that the UFC has acquired Glory Kickboxing, Eddie Bravo Invitational, and K-1 fight libraries. In addition UFC Fight Pass will begin streaming Glory Kickboxing and Eddie Bravo Invitational Jiu-Jitsu events.
Kevin Randleman passes away at age 44

Tragic news struck the MMA community last night as it was revealed that MMA veteran and former UFC champion Kevin Randleman had passed away at age 44 after an alleged heart attack. Randleman compiled a 17-16 record over the course of his 15 year professional MMA career. Over the course of his career Randleman fought legends such as Mirko Cro Cop, Fedor Emelianenko, Shogun Rua, Chuck Liddell, and Randy Couture to name just a few.

On February 27th former UFC middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva will return to the Octagon after a year-long layoff following his fight with Nick Diaz that was ultimately ruled a no-contest. Silva will fight Michael Bisping in a highly anticipated middleweight showdown between two veterans of the sport at UFC London. A win over Bisping could see Silva’s name thrown into the middleweight title mix once again. However with that being said, Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman ave their highly anticipated rematch for the UFC middleweight championship at UFC 199. In addition, the UFC has booked Vitor Belfort vs. Jacare Souza in what many expect to be a #1 contender matchup in the wake of Yoel Romero’s failed drug test.

Michael Bisping is riding a 2-fight win streak that has seen him defeat C.B. Dollaway and Thales Leites via decision. A win over Silva could very well finally earn Bisping a crack at the UFC middleweight championship.

Veteran UFC featherweight Chad Mendes has been in the middle of the drama unfolding between Team Alpha Male star Urijah Faber and former teammates T.J. Dillashaw and Duane Ludwig. After a brief period of silence, Rousey revealed that she would be returning to the Octagon after filming several movies in Hollywood. While the UFC brass would have liked to see a Holm vs. Rousey rematch at UFC 200, due to Rousey’s film schedule that isn’t possible.

It was recently announced that MMA veteran Jason “Mayhem” Miller will be returning to fight in the cage once again. It has been nearly four years since “Mayhem” last fought an MMA bout. His unanimous decision loss to C.B. Dollaway at UFC 146 in May of 2012 was his last appearance fighting but has been through quite a bit of trouble with the law since then.
