News surfaced Wednesday afternoon that former UFC fighter Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller had been arrested on March 15th after vandalizing a tattoo shop with graffiti back in January. This isn’t Miller’s first run-in with law enforcement. Prior to this arrest, Miller engaged in a standoff with SWAT team members outside of his house in 2014. In typical ‘Mayhem’ fashion, the MMA vet live-Tweeted the situation from inside his house.

Sometimes strange things happen in the world of MMA. WSOF lightweight champion Justin Gaethje won a decisive first round TKO over his WSOF 29 opponent Brian Foster at the Bank of Colorado Arena in Greeley, CO on March 12th. However, Gaethje was suspended indefinitely by the Colorado State Boxing Commission for unsportsmanlike conduct, celebrating after his exciting win over Foster, according to The MMA Report.

Rashad Evans and Daniel Cormier may have become friends through their analyst roles on Fox Sports 1, however the way Evans sees it, if Daniel Cormier were to lose to Jon Jones in their rematch at UFC 197, DC might have to retire. In the pair’s first meeting, Jones dominated Cormier for 5 full rounds at UFC 182 to retain his UFC light heavyweight championship. Following that fight, Jones was stripped of the light heavyweight championship following a hit-and-run incident.

Nate Diaz is coming off the biggest win of his career after beating UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor at UFC 196 in a non-title welterweight bout. Diaz is said to have come out making over a million dollars in his fight with McGregor, which Dana White says was the most bought UFC PPV event in the company’s history.

In the main event of UFC 194, Holly Holm put on one of the most spectacular performances in UFC history as she dominated Ronda Rousey en route to a 2nd round head kick KO win. In her first title defense, Holm fought Miesha Tate. Unfortunately for Holm, despite winning most of the fight, Tate pulled off a late 5th round submission to win the UFC women’s bantamweight championship. During a recent interview with Submission Radio, Holm’s head coach Mike Winkeljohn spoke about how he believes a rematch between Holm and Rousey would go, as well as how he believes a rematch between Holm and Tate would go.

In the last 6 months, two of the UFC’s biggest stars, Ronda Rouesy and Conor McGregor, have both suffered devastating losses. Back at UFC 193 in Australia, Holly Holm pulled off one of the biggest upsets in UFC history as she dominated Ronda Rousey for two rounds before ultimately knocking Rousey out with a brutal head kick.

Back in December of 2015 Nate Diaz made his emphatic return to the Octagon as he picked up a dominant unanimous decision win over Michael Johnson at UFC on FOX 17. During his post-fight Octagon interview Diaz put Conor McGregor on blast saying: “Conor McGregor you’re taking everything I’ve worked for motherf**ker. I’m gonna fight your f**king ass.”

At UFC 196, Conor McGregor suffered the first defeat of his UFC career at the hands of Nate Diaz, ending his 7-fight unbeaten streak inside the Octagon, as well as his 15 fight MMA win streak. After the fight McGregor was gracious in defeat, offering no excuses for why he lost, and admitting that he panicked which resulted in an inefficient use of his energy. McGregor revealed post-fight that he would be returning to featherweight to defend his championship belt at UFC 200, however the UFC has yet to announce an opponent.

The win for Diaz was undoubtably the biggest of his professional career, and according to UFC President Dana White, made him a millionaire. Following the win, UFC welterweight Rory MacDonald, who defeated Diaz back in 2011, spoke on The MMA Hour to discuss Diaz’s massive win and massive payday.

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor fought two weight classes above his previous UFC fights at UFC 196. The move up in weight to face UFC lightweight and welterweight veteran Nate Diaz proved to be a tall task as Diaz was able to weather the early storm of McGregor and submitted him in the second round. Gunnar Nelson, training partner of “The Notorious” recently spoke with Submission Radio about McGregor’s fighting weight (transcribed by Bloody Elbow).

While Chael Sonnen hasn’t competed inside the Octagon since his TKO loss to Rashad Evans at UFC 167 in November of 2013, there has been much speculation as to whether or not Sonnen would return to the Octagon once his 2-year suspension is up. With UFC 200 rapidly approaching, many guessed that Sonnen would make an emphatic return to the Octagon at UFC 200, however Sonnen has stated that he is in fact retired, and won’t be returning.
