In the last 6 months, two of the UFC’s biggest stars, Ronda Rouesy and Conor McGregor, have both suffered devastating losses.

Back at UFC 193 in Australia, Holly Holm pulled off one of the biggest upsets in UFC history as she dominated Ronda Rousey for two rounds before ultimately knocking Rousey out with a brutal head kick.

Three months later at UFC 196, Conor McGregor moved up to welterweight to fight Nate Diaz. After gassing out towards the end of the first round, Diaz rocked McGregor with a 1-2 combination before submitting the featherweight champ with a rear naked choke.

Despite that, Chael Sonnen believes that Conor McGregor is still the UFC’s biggest star. He spoke on Submission Radio to give his thoughts:

“Being invincible isn’t a tremendous drawing point, good competition is, somebody that’s exciting,” Sonnen told Submission Radio. “So he’s going to do fine, but to say that he’s not going to take a dip, yeah I think he’ll take a little bit of a dip. But even with a dip he’ll still be the biggest star the company’s got right now.”

“He’s always been, he’s always been. That’s never been true [that Ronda was a bigger star]. She’s a good friend, I don’t mean this negative, not even a tiny bit, but that’s never been true. I never understood why they have constantly said it. God bless them, it’s just simply not true. But Conor holds the gate records and he holds the pay-per-view records and she hasn’t touched him. And that’s the truth, regardless of what you might read in the media.”

In the wake of UFC 196 it was revealed that the pay-per view event broke every record in UFC history. With that being said, who do you believe is the UFC’s biggest star? Is it Conor McGregor or Ronda Rousey? Or is another star emerging?
