News broke late Saturday evening that UFC featherweight Diego Brandao had been arrested on April 14th after an incident outside of a strip club that saw Brandao point a gun at several people, and even pistol whip an employee of the club. New details emerged today after MMAJunkie obtained a police report from the Albuquerque Police Department.

On Saturday, Jon Jones will make his highly anticipated return to the Octagon after over a year away from the sport due to legal troubles. Jones will face Ovince Saint Preux in an interim light heavyweight title fight that will see the winner eventually face Daniel Cormier for the undisputed light heavyweight championship. Before Jones was reinstated by the UFC, he was bulking up and putting on extreme amounts of muscle. While this was undoubtably impressive, many wondered how this would affect Jones’ cardio when he returned to the Octagon.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans swallowed a tough pill on Saturday after being knocked out by the heavy hands of Glover Teixeira in the main event of UFC on FOX 19. Despite only having two consecutive losses in his past two fights in the Octagon, the brutal knockout was the first time “Suga” was stopped since being knocked out by Lyoto Machida in their title fight back in 2009.

Top UFC lightweight contender Eddie Alvarez was a guest on today’s edition of The MMA Hour where he discussed his upcoming title fight with current division champion Rafael dos Anjos. Alvarez stated that while “RDA” is a solid all-around fighter, nothing is going to keep him from winning the belt on July 7 in Las Vegas. His words: “He’s good man. I have nothing bad to say about Rafael dos Anjos. He is a good fighter all around. He’s done a great job. But what happens on July 7 has zero to do with Rafael dos Anjos and everything to do with me. And umm, my journey to get here and my journey to win the title. So it’s not about him and what he can do or what he has done. I’m not concerned with any of that. I’m going to win the world title. If you give me the opportunity of a life time I’m going to take advantage of it and I’m going to execute.”

When Tony Ferguson pulled out of the UFC on FOX 19 main event fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov, it surely looked like Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone would be stepping in to fight Nurmagomedov on short notice despite having a fight with Patrick Cote booked in June. The UFC surprised everyone when they announced that Nurmagomedov would welcome reigning CFCC lightweight champion Darrell Horcher to the Octagon in his UFC debut.

Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has not made any official announcement regarding a return to fighting in the Octagon but has revealed that he is in negotiations with the UFC on fighting once again. “I don’t know 100 percent,” St-Pierre said to Ariel Helwani on Monday’s episode of the MMA Hour. “We are training and doing some testing, tuning up and stuff like that. We are talking with UFC, we will see what is gonna happen.”

BJ “The Prodigy” Penn is scheduled to make his return to the Octagon at UFC 199 against Dennis Siver on June 4 at The Forum in Los Angeles. The former UFC champion and UFC Hall of Fame legend recently stated that he is coming back for his second fight in the featherweight division for the ultimate goal of winning the 145-pound belt, which will make him the only fighter in UFC history to win championship titles in three different weight classes.
