While Jones seemed extremely gun-shy throughout the fight, he explained post-fight that the late change of opponents threw him off, and he would look better when he fought Daniel Cormier. While Jones stated that he felt like he could go another 5 rounds after the fight, corner-cam audio captured his head coach, Greg Jackson, criticizing Jones’ power-lifting regimen after round 5.

After Conor McGregor refused to take part in the UFC 200 media obligations to concentrate on training for the upcoming rematch with Diaz, “The Notorious” was pulled from the bout against Diaz by the UFC.

UFC 197 took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night. The card was headlined with a UFC interim light heavyweight title fight between former champion Jon Jones and number six UFC ranked contender Ovince Saint Preux. Jones took the win in a five-round unanimous decision and ranked at the top of the pay scale of the card at $500,000 with no win bonus.

Monday came around and Dana White denied McGregor’s claim and stated that he has not been put back on the marquee card. McGregor was spotted getting on a plane, likely leaving Iceland where he has been training with his team. McGregor’s longtime coach John Kavanagh spoke on the MMA Hour on Monday and acknowledged that they were no longer all training in Iceland.
