Back in 2012, Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz fought for the interim UFC welterweight championship at UFC 143. Ultimately, Condit was awarded the unanimous decision win, although many believed that Diaz should have won the fight given the fact that he was the aggressor throughout the entire fight. Since then, there has always been talk amongst fans of a potential rematch between the pair all these years later, however nothing ever came to fruition.

At UFC 200 on July 9th, Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz were slated to have their highly anticipated welterweight rematch. Unfortunately for MMA fans, McGregor refused to fulfill his promotional obligations for the event, and was eventually pulled from the card.

In addition, Lawler has been in quite a few wars during his career, most notably his fight against Rory MacDonald at UFC 189.

Dhafir Harris, better known as Dada 5000 was hospitalized in critical condition immediately after his fight with Kimbo Slice at Bellator 149. Dada 5000 spent nearly two weeks in the hospital after the fight and says he was actually pronounced dead after suffering from cardiac arrest, dehydration, fatigue and renal failure.

Friday had a lot of MMA and boxing fans excited as a report from U.K. tabloid, The Sun claimed that Floyd Mayweather Jr. would be coming out of retirement for a boxing match with UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor. The report claimed that it would be another huge payday for Mayweather, but would give the UFC champ a much smaller cut in comparison, saying that Mayweather would bring in $144 million while McGregor would get $10.1 million for the bout.

While there are reports of a boxing match being set between boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, “The Notorious” is also reportedly close to being finalized for a bout in the UFC. FloSports Jeremy Botter tweeted on Friday after the Mayweather vs. McGregor boxing match came to light that “The Notorious” is nearly set to get his rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202.

Back at Bellator 149, Kimbo Slice and Dada 5000 competed in one of the most infamous fights in the history of the sport. Both men appeared to gas very early in the fight, which made for a rather long fight until Slice ultimately TKO’d Dada 5000 in the 3rd round without actually touching him. After the bout it was revealed that Dada 5000 was placed in critical condition in the hospital after suffering from kidney failure, and going into cardiac arrest. In addition, it was revealed that Slice failed a drug test for steroids. Slice was suspended for 3 months for the offense, and Dada 5000 isn’t too happy about it. Despite his suspension, Slice will headline a Bellator event in July in London, just 5 months after his fight with Dada 5000.

Friday morning a report emerged which revealed that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather were reportedly close to finalizing a deal which would see the two men compete in a boxing match in Las Vegas. While there were several details regarding the bout which indicated that the report was in fact true, many wondered how McGregor would be able to compete in a boxing match while under contract with the UFC.
