Tuesday morning the MMA world was caught off guard as rumors began surfacing that former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo had injured himself in training, and would be unable to compete in his scheduled UFC 200 matchup against Frankie Edgar for the interim featherweight championship on July 9th. Following the rumors, updates then began emerging that Aldo was uninjured, and actually in the middle of a sparring session when the rumors emerged.

Tuesday morning the MMA world was quickly thrown into a panic as a rumor emerged that former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo had injured himself in training and would be unable to fight in his scheduled UFC 200 bout against Frankie Edgar for the interim featherweight championship. Given that there had been no official comment from Aldo or his camp regarding the situation, there was much speculation as to whether or not the rumor was true.

With nearly a month to go until UFC 200, where Jose Aldo will fight Frankie Edgar for the interim featherweight championship in a highly anticipated rematch from 2013, a rumor is picking up steam that Aldo injured himself in training and could be out of his UFC 200 fight with Frankie Edgar. The report comes from a page which isn’t ‘verified’ by Facebook as an official Combate account, which has cast some doubt on the situation, however if the report is true, expect news to break shortly.

At the time of his death, Slice was preparing for his Bellator 158 scrap with James Thompson on July 16th at London’s famous ‘O2 Arena’.
