Earlier this month, tragic news emerged that famed YouTube brawler and Mixed Martial Artist Kimbo Slice had passed away from heart failure in Florida at the age of 42. Understandably, the combat sports community was devastated about the loss of Slice, and many members of the MMA community began paying tribute to Slice.

This past weekend at UFC 199, Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber had their highly anticipated trilogy fight nearly a decade after their first meeting in the WEC banner. Cruz ended up dominating the fight from start to finish, securing numerous takedowns, and even dropping Faber several times. After the fight Faber revealed that while he wasn’t ready to commit to retirement, he was going to take some time away from MMA. In addition, Faber told the world to watch out for some up-and-coming fighters out of his gym, including Cody Garbrandt.
Dan Henderson reportedly wants rematch with Michael Bisping

At UFC 199, Michael Bisping stepped in to fight then-UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold on short notice after Chris Weidman pulled out of the fight with a neck injury just 2-weeks before fight night. Bisping went out and won the fight in the very first round to claim the middleweight championship. Earlier on the card, MMA legend Dan Henderson put on an incredible comeback as he defeated Hector Lombard via 2nd round KO. Given that both men won their fights, Henderson is hoping to get a rematch with Bisping, this time for the middleweight championship.
Chris Weidman undergoes successful neck surgery

At UFC 199, Michael Bisping finally got his UFC title shot after nearly a decade in the promotion. Bisping capitalized on the opportunity, despite stepping in on just 2 weeks notice, and knocked out middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in the very first round. With both men at one win each, Rockhold believes that an immediate rematch is in order so he can attempt to reclaim the UFC championship. Bisping doesn’t see it that way, and wants Rockhold to earn another fight, like he had to after their first fight in 2014.

It’s been nearly a week since it was revealed that former UFC champion Brock Lesnar would be returning to the Octagon at UFC 200. Since then, it has also been revealed that Lesnar will be fighting fan-favorite heavyweight Mark Hunt, and that he has been granted an exemption from USADA random drug testing. Ahead of the fight, Mark Hunt is rather unhappy with Lesnar being granted a USADA exemption. He spoke to UFC Fight Week on Fox Sports:

This past weekend it was revealed during the UFC 199 broadcast that Brock Lesnar would be returning to the UFC to fight Mark Hunt in the co-main event of UFC 200 on July 9th. The fight will be Lesnar’s first in nearly 5 years, and while there are many who believe Lesnar will make a dominant return to the Octagon, Frank Mir believes that Mark Hunt is a bad matchup for the former champ.

MMA journalist Ariel Helwani made the headlines himself after he made it known that he was kicked out of UFC 199 and “banned for life” after breaking the news of Brock Lesnar’s return at UFC 200 before the promotion could make their big announcement. UFC color commentator Joe Rogan reacted to the news of the UFC lifting the ban on Helwani and his team on his “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. Rogan explained what he was told regarding the situation. Rogan said that Helwani was told by the UFC that only a handful of people knew the confidential information, and by breaking the news, people would be fired to eliminate any moles leaking the confidential information.

After losing his UFC lightweight championship to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 185, Pettis dropped back to back decisions to Eddie Alvarez and most recently Edson Barboza. Tragic news surfaced earlier this week that YouTube star and MMA fighter Kimbo Slice had passed away from heart failure in Florida. Unbeknownst to the MMA community, Slice had been hospitalized since June 3rd, at which point he learned that he had a mass on his liver, and would need a heart transplant. Since his passing, numerous MMA fighters, including Dada5000, have paid tribute to Slice on social media.
