With just over a month to go until UFC 202 on August 20th, where Conor McGregor & Nate Diaz will square off in their highly anticipated welterweight rematch, the UFC has made a pretty big adjustment to the card. Carlos Condit vs. Demian Maia, which was expected to be on the pay-per view portion of the card, has now been rebooked for UFC on FOX 21 on August 27th in Vancouver Canada.

With the news of Brock Lesnar failing two drug tests for his UFC 200 bout with Mark Hunt, one out-of-competition, and one fight night, many are wondering what the repercussions will be for the former heavyweight champ. Given the precedent set by the NSAC in the past, many are expecting Lesnar to be fined and suspended for the infractions. While that may be the case, Lesnar would have to pay a fine on his $2.5 million purse regardless of whether or not he chooses to fight again.

Just two days before UFC 200, UFC pound for pound kingpin Jon Jones was pulled from his headlining bout with Daniel Cormier after being notified of a potential anti-doping violation. In the days following UFC 200, it was reported that Jones failed the drug test for an estrogen blocker. The following weekend, it was revealed that Brock Lesnar had failed a random out-of-competition drug test back in June.

In the midst of all the buzz surrounding Brock Lesnar’s potential Anti-Doping Policy violation, Mark Hunt has been very vocal on the subject. Hunt, who lost a unanimous decision to Lesnar at UFC 200 has stated that he wants a certain amount of Lesnar’s fight purse, or wishes to be immediately released from the UFC.

Since then, the MMA community has seen numerous fighters popped for both in competition, and out-of-competition, anti-doping violations. Earlier this month a list was released of the fighters most tested by USADA in the first year of the program. Tied for first were UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, and former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm.

Less than one week ago, Evangelista Santos was on the wrong end of a vicious flying knee KO from Michael Page at Bellator 158. The knee which knocked Santos out, also landed him in the hospital for a fractured skull which will require surgery. Santos shared horrific pictures of his face, as well as the X-rays, which were then used to set up a GoFundMe by Cris Cyborg, Santos’ ex wife.

Back in March, Nate Diaz stepped in on just two weeks notice to fight Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 196. While the bout was initially supposed to be a lightweight matchup, the pair fought at welterweight. McGregor gassed out early in the fight, going into the second round looking rather flat footed. Diaz capitalized on the situation, landing a 1-2 combination that rocked the featherweight champ. McGregor then shot for a takedown, which ultimately resulted in Diaz securing a rear-naked choke, forcing McGregor to tap.

After Urijah Faber recently dropped a one sided decision to Dominick Cruz in the co-main event of UFC 199, ‘The California Kid’ was noncommittal about his future in the Octagon. Less than a month after the bout however, it was announced that Faber would be returning to the Octagon at UFC 203 on September 10th to fight Jimmie Rivera. Despite being 0-4 in title fights in the UFC, Faber is confident that he can earn another title shot inside the Octagon.
