Wednesday evening in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the UFC held ‘UFC Fight Night: 91’. The event was an action packed one, headlined by a pivotal bantamweight bout between Michael McDonald and John Lineker. Lineker picked up an early and impressive KO victory over McDonald, moving him up to #5 on the UFC’s official bantamweight ladder.

While UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is currently slated for a welterweight rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202, ‘Notorious’ has found himself called out by numerous fighters. While McGregor is supposed to to fight Jose Aldo for the undisputed featherweight championship after his bout with Diaz, Eddie Alvarez, Dominick Cruz, and several other fighters have been calling out McGregor.

Since the UFC struck their deal with Reebok, fighters have become increasingly more vocal about how the deal has hurt fighters financially. In the wake of USADA announcing that former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar had failed a random drug test leading up to his UFC 200 scrap with Mark Hunt, ‘The Super Samoan’ has been very vocal about wanting compensation for fighting someone on PEDs. Hunt initially demanded 50% of Lesnar’s purse, before then demanding 100% of the $2.5 million Lesnar was paid. In addition, Hunt demanded that if the UFC wouldn’t make up for the situation, he wanted to be released from his contract.

Back in June, USADA randomly drug tested Brock Lesnar ahead of his UFC 200 fight with Mark Hunt. Lesnar failed the test, however USADA didn’t announce it until after Lesnar had already defeated Hunt in the co-main event of UFC 200. That didn’t sit too well with Hunt, who sustained injuries while fighting fighters using PEDs in the past.

Brock Lesnar may not be facing backlash from just the MMA community in the wake of his “potential anti-doping violation”. The former UFC champion failed an out-of-competition drug test in June, which wasn’t announced until post-UFC 200. This likely could complicate things with Lesnar’s other employers, the WWE.

Friday evening, it was revealed that the US Anti-Doping agency had informed the UFC of a “potential anti-doping violation” for Brock Lesnar stemming from a June drug test. Lesnar’s opponent for UFC 200, Mark Hunt, was quick to release a statement on the matter, demanding the UFC give him 50% of Lesnar’s massive purse for the event, or release him from his contract.

One week ago on Friday, Joanna Jedrzejczyk stepped into the Octagon to fight Claudia Gadelha in her 3rd strawweight title defense. Gadelha came out of the gate strong, putting the pressure on Jedrzejczyk throughout the first two rounds, however she gassed out quickly, and the champ was able to decisively win the last 3 rounds, ultimately retaining her title via unanimous decision.

That didn’t sit too well with Mark Hunt, who lost to Lesnar at UFC 200 via unanimous decision. The heavyweight veteran demanded that the UFC give him half of Lesnar’s purse, or release him from his UFC contract.

Danis has been a staple in McGregor’s camp during his preparation for his rematch with Diaz. It has been eight months since we last seen former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey in the Octagon. Rousey recently made an appearance at an event in Chicago and from the looks of the photo, it doesn’t look like Rousey has any plans of fighting anytime soon. Although the former champion has expressed interest in fighting on the New York card, she has not made any official announcement on fighting again since losing the belt to Holly Holm at UFC 193 back in November.
