Last week at Bellator 158, Evangelista Santos was on the wrong end of one of the most horrific knockouts in MMA history. In the second round of his scrap with Michael Page, Santos lunged in with a cross to the body. Page countered perfectly with a jumping switch knee that landed clean on the forehead of Santos. The blow dropped Santos, who fell to the ground clutching at his head in pain. Following the fight, it was revealed that Santos had a fractured skull, and would need to undergo surgery to repair the damage done by Page.

During the UFC 200 post-fight show, UFC President Dana White revealed that UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping would likely be making his first title defense against Dan Henderson. White also revealed that the event would likely be going down in England. On a recent episode of The Luke Thomas show, Bisping discussed the fight, explaining that the fight will likely go down in October.

Following Dillashaw’s UFC 200 win over Raphael Assuncao, the former champ took to Instagram with a lengthy message directed at Dominick Cruz. The message ended with “Stop running, let’s get this on paper”.

With just over a month to go until UFC 202 on August 20th, where Conor McGregor & Nate Diaz will square off in their highly anticipated welterweight rematch, the UFC has made a pretty big adjustment to the card. Carlos Condit vs. Demian Maia, which was expected to be on the pay-per view portion of the card, has now been rebooked for UFC on FOX 21 on August 27th in Vancouver Canada.

With the news of Brock Lesnar failing two drug tests for his UFC 200 bout with Mark Hunt, one out-of-competition, and one fight night, many are wondering what the repercussions will be for the former heavyweight champ. Given the precedent set by the NSAC in the past, many are expecting Lesnar to be fined and suspended for the infractions. While that may be the case, Lesnar would have to pay a fine on his $2.5 million purse regardless of whether or not he chooses to fight again.

Last week, it was announced that former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar had failed an out-of-competition drug test prior to UFC 200. Immediately, Lesnar’s UFC 200 opponent, Mark Hunt, called for the UFC to give him 50% of Lesnar’s massive $2.5 million purse for the event, or for them to release him from his contract. Hunt then changed his demand, revealing that he wanted 100% of Lesnar’s purse.

Hunt, who lost a unanimous decision to Lesnar at UFC 200 has stated that he wants a certain amount of Lesnar’s fight purse, or wishes to be immediately released from the UFC.

Since then, the MMA community has seen numerous fighters popped for both in competition, and out-of-competition, anti-doping violations. Earlier this month a list was released of the fighters most tested by USADA in the first year of the program. Tied for first were UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, and former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm.

The knee which knocked Santos out, also landed him in the hospital for a fractured skull which will require surgery. Santos shared horrific pictures of his face, as well as the X-rays, which were then used to set up a GoFundMe by Cris Cyborg, Santos’ ex wife.
