While Eddie Alvarez may be the UFC lightweight champion after defeating Rafael dos Anjos last month, Donald Cerrone remains the only man to defeat Alvarez inside the Octagon. When the MMA vet made his UFC debut in 2014, it was Cerrone who welcomed him to the Octagon. ‘Cowboy’ put on a spectacular showing, dominating Alvarez from bell to bell, brutalizing his legs with leg kicks until he was no longer able to stand.

While Cody Garbrandt is currently making his final preparations for his UFC 202 fight with Takeya Mizugaki this Saturday, the Team Alpha Male prospect has continued to relentlessly call out UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. After Cruz compared Garbrandt to former WWE champion CM Punk, who will be making his MMA debut at UFC 203, Garbrandt took a break from fight-prep to fire back at the bantamweight champion via Twitter:

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is never one to shy away from talking trash. While McGregor is slated to fight Nate Diaz in a highly anticipated welterweight rematch at UFC 202 this Saturday, he hasn’t refrained from trash talking many other UFC stars. With just days left until Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor step into the Octagon for their highly anticipated rematch, Nate Diaz appears to be in phenomenal shape. One of Diaz’ trainers, Jose Garcia, posted a photo of Diaz to Instagram during the midst of his weight cut.

At UFC 199, Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman were slated to have their highly anticipated rematch for the UFC middleweight championship. Unfortunately, with just two weeks to go until fight night, Chris Weidman was forced out of the fight with a neck injury that required surgery. Weidman was replaced by Michael Bisping, who went on to defeat Rockhold via first round KO to win the middleweight championship.

Earlier this afternoon UFC President Dana White shocked the MMA world when he gave a major update in regards to Jon Jones’ failed drug test case with the US Anti-Doping Agency. Jones was expected to fight current UFC light heavyweight champion and bitter rival Daniel Cormier in the headliner of last month’s UFC 200 event in Las Vegas, but was pulled from the card just days prior to the event after being flagged by USADA for banned substances.

Early yesterday morning, former UFC welterweight title challenger Nick Diaz was surprised with a random drug test from USADA, this after the Stockton native had apparently been “out all night” and had gone without any sleep. Obviously Nick was not to happy about the situation and thus proceeded to share his verbal argument with the USADA agent, followed by his random drug test on social media.

Tuesday afternoon UFC President Dana White shocked the MMA community as he gave a major update in regards to Jon Jones’ failed drug test case with the US Anti-Doping Agency. Jones, who was pulled from UFC 200 for a failed out-of-competition drug test, actually “did not take the drug everybody thought he took” according to Dana White. This comes several weeks after it was revealed that USADA was looking into the possibility that a supplement Jones had taken was contaminated with a banned substance not listed on the package.

While there has been no official word yet on whether or not former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre will return to the Octagon, Reebok just dropped a major bombshell on the MMA community. For the first time since the UFC’s partnership with Reebok, a Georges St-Pierre ‘Fight Kit’ is on the Reebok Canada store. The product sold out extremely quick, however it is still available for viewing on the Reebok website.

UFC President Dana White shared some very interesting news while speaking with Jim Rome on his show regarding Jon Jones Anti-Doping Policy violation. As reported earlier, White told Rome that Jones “did not take drug everyone thought he took.”

When news broke that Jon Jones was pulled from his title fight with Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 for an Anti-Doping Policy violation, the MMA community was in total shock. With Jones going through the “full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes,” some potentially good news has come out for Jones.

With Conor McGregor’s highly anticipated welterweight rematch with Nate Diaz less than a week away, many are wondering what will be next for the featherweight champ.
