Julianna Pena has been on a tear of the women’s bantamweight division as of late, going on a 4-fight win streak that has seen her go on a 4-fight win streak over the course of the past 3 years. After winning ‘The Ultimate Fighter: Season 18’, Pena was forced to take two years away from competition. In her return fight back in the Octagon at ‘UFC Fight Night: Fairfax’, Pena picked up an impressive TKO win over Milana Dudieva to earn herself a performance of the night bonus.

On December 10, in the main event of UFC 206, Daniel Cormier will attempt to defend the UFC light heavyweight title against streaking contender Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. Cormier will enter the bout having recently defeated middleweight great Anderson “The Spider” Silva in a last-minute, non-title light heavyweight showdown on the main card of UFC 200. Rumble, meanwhile, will enter the fight with three straight knockout victories behind him, having recently snuffed Jimi Manuwa, Ryan Bader, and most recently, former title challenger Glover Teixeira. Whoever emerges as the victor of this bout will stand out as the bona fide best light heavyweight currently competing in the UFC.

Earlier this year, the UFC was sold for a whopping $4 billion – quite an increase from the $2 million that Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta bought it for in the year 2000. The promotion was purchased by American talent agency WME-IMG. Since it purchased the UFC, WME-IMG has made several major moves. Some of these moves, such as its choice to sell small stakes of the promotion to celebrities like Ben Affleck, Conan O’Brien and The Weeknd, were quite exciting. Others, like its choice to enact a mass layoff of UFC staff, have been rather disheartening.

A superfight between WMMA superstar Cris Cyborg, and former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has always been just out of arms reach for MMA fans. Earlier this month, when UFC President Dana White announced that Rousey would be returning to the Octagon in December, over a year after suffering the first loss of her professional career at the hands of Holly Holm at UFC 193, White announced that in addition to returning for a championship fight with Amanda Nunes at UFC 207, Rousey was looking for a superfight with Cris Cyborg if she defeated Nunes at UFC 207.
Driver who killed Jordan Parsons posts bail

Earlier this year, tragic news surfaced that Bellator MMA prospect Jordan Parsons had been struck by a vehicle in Florida. While initial reports regarding the situation, and what happened, were a bit scarce, it was then revealed that Parsons was in the hospital, where he was forced to have his leg amputated as a result of the accident. Following the announcement that Parsons had to have his leg amputated, it was then revealed that the young prospect was undergoing heart surgery after it was revealed that his heart was operating at just approximately 1/5 of its capacity.

On Monday, Georges St-Pierre announced that he is now a free agent after being released of his contract with the UFC. Current UFC interim featherweight champion Jose Aldo is set to meet with UFC brass soon to discuss his desire to be released from his contract. Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold recently renegotiated his contract after he made it known that he was unhappy with the contract he was under. Fortunately for Rockhold, he came to an agreement with the UFC and spoke about his situation on the Submission Radio podcast recently.

Though Weidman is clearly dead-set on this looming bout with Romero, he’s also keeping busy outside of his training schedule – and we’re not talking about his war of words with reigning middleweight champion Michael Bisping.
