Despite that, there had been no word from McGregor’s camp regarding the rumors. UFC light heavyweight kingpin Daniel Cormier is currently gearing up for what he hopes will be his second successful title defense when he steps into the Octagon in the main event of UFC 206 in Toronto on December 10th against heavy-handed light heavyweight Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson. This won’t be the first time the pair have collided in the Octagon. After pound for pound kingpin Jon Jones was involved in a hit-and-run car accident in April of 2015, the UFC pulled Jones from his scheduled title defense against Anthony Johnson before stripping Jones of the light heavyweight championship and having Daniel Cormier fight Johnson for the vacant light heavyweight championship.

When Cruz was making his highly anticipated return to the Octagon in January against TJ Dillashaw, Cruz took his trash talk to an entirely new level when he began his verbal onslaught of the bantamweight champion. Ultimately, when the pair stepped into the Octagon, it was Cruz who emerged victorious as he reclaimed the bantamweight championship he never actually lost inside the Octagon.

Former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw is coming off a big win over Raphael Assuncao at UFC 200 back in July, which returned him to the win column after dropping a controversial split decision to Dominick Cruz back in January of 2016 to lose the bantamweight championship. Following Dillashaw’s win over Assuncao, there was talk of whether or not he would get the next title shot at bantamweight, and secure himself a rematch with Cruz, however ultimately, the UFC opted to give the title shot to streaking bantamweight prospect Cody Garbrandt, who is an undefeated Team Alpha Male prospect. Garbrandt’s MMA record currently sits at 10-0, which includes a 5-0 run inside the Octagon. Throughout the course of his stint with the UFC, Garbrandt has finished all but one opponent via KO/TKO. The scrap between Cruz and Garbrandt is currently slated to take place at UFC 207 on December 30th, the UFC’s New Years Eve card.

Former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw is coming off a dominant performance against Raphael Assuncao at UFC 200 back in July, avenging his 2013 split decision loss to Assuncao as he cemented his place at the top of the bantamweight division. Following the win over Assuncao, which returned Dillashaw to the win column after he dropped a controversial split decision to Dominick Cruz at ‘UFC Fight Night: Boston’ in early January, there was some speculation as to whether or not he would be getting a rematch with Dominick Cruz for the bantamweight championship.

On Tuesday, Werdum posted a photo to social media with a Nike logo photoshopped in place of the Reebok logo on his UFC fight kit uniform. The bantamweight champion recently made his triumphant return to the Octagon earlier this year, where he reclaimed the bantamweight championship he never lost inside the Octagon. After reclaiming the championship belt, Cruz stepped into the Octagon to square off with longtime nemesis Urijah Faber in the co-main event of UFC 199 back in June. Cruz put on a spectacular performance as he picked up a dominant unanimous decision win over Faber.

Relations between the UFC brass and former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre have continued to be strained over the last few weeks as St-Pierre’s highly anticipated return to the Octagon was once again postponed after negotiations for ‘Rush’ to return at UFC 206 failed. This resulted in St-Pierre revealing in an interview that he had terminated his contract with the UFC after the promotion failed to secure him a fight in a reasonable amount of time. Despite that, rumors of St-Pierre returning to the Octagon at UFC 206 for a fight with Michael Bisping continued to surface, until this week, when St-Pierre sent a message to Bisping via social media, in which he stated:
