Conor McGregor admits race jokes didn't "hit right"

Throughout the first three stops of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor world tour, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor was criticized for what many perceived to be racist comments. In New York, on the third stop of the tour, Conor McGregor attempted to address the criticism, stating that what many don’t know is that he is half black – “from the belly button down”. The joke fell a bit flat with those in attendance, however McGregor then proceeded to state that he loves black women, which then led to a sexual gesture on stage.

Friday afternoon in London, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor appeared in a boxing ring together for the first, and only, time ahead of their August 26th boxing match. The stop in London marked not only the 4th stop on the pair’s media tour, but also the final stop of the world tour ahead of their August 26th fight. Of course, with the stop being the last of the world tour, tensions were even higher than at previous stops. After Conor McGregor delivered an emphatic speech to those in attendance, which included him rubbing Floyd Mayweather’s head, Floyd Mayweather took the mic.

Bellator officials broke the news during tonight’s broadcast on Spike TV stating that Gegard Mousasi (42-6-2 MMA) will make is promotional debut against former Bellator middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko (56-9 MMA) on October 20 live from the Mohegan Sun Casino.

Earlier this week UFC President Dana White announced that the promotion was aiming to have current UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway (18-3 MMA) make his first title defense against former lightweight title holder Frankie Edgar later this year. “We’re looking at Frankie Edgar, but we don’t know where.” White stated. “Absolutely. (it will happen before the end of the year)”.

Immediately, McGregor took aim at Mayweather for wearing platform shoes at the previous media stop in New York.

The highly anticipated UFC debut of kickboxing star Gokhan Saki has been announced. Saki, who is considered one of the best kickboxers in the world announced on social media that he will be making his UFC debut in Japan at the UFC Fight Night 117 event at Saitama Super Arena, which takes place on September 23. The UFC announced that Saki will meet Henrique da Silva in the Octagon where Mauricio Rua and Ovince Saint Preux will fight in a rematch as the main event.

Thursday afternoon, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and undefeated boxing icon Floyd Mayweather appeared onstage together in New York for the third stop of their highly anticipated world tour. The press conference was certainly the most intense so far, with the two men getting in each other’s faces once again as tensions continued to build throughout the course of the third press conference. at one point, things got so heated that the UFC champion was just inches away from Mayweather, as he made sure he was included in Mayweather’s Periscope stream footage, going as far as to attempt to smack Mayweather’s hat off his head.
