VIDEO | Fighter fakes heart attack, nearly wins by TKO, then gives up out of respect for opponent
Tom Taylor - July 1, 2018
Travis Fulton is perhaps the most unheralded legend in MMA. Although there are no major world titles on his mantle, he has fought upward of 315 times against all manner of weekend warriors, prospects, veterans, and legends. He has battled inside the enclosures of the UFC, WEC, Pancrase, and pretty much any Iowa promotion with the wherewithal to set up a cage in a church basement or back yard. In the past, he’s shoehorned over 40 fights into a single calendar year. No, he’s not your traditional MMA legend, but he’s a legend all the same. Last night, the journeyman added another fight to his crowded resume, and it was a weird one. In the main event of Colosseum Combat 45, Fulton met the errr… eccentric… Jonathan Ivey, a fighter with nearly 100 pro fights of his own. Oh — Ivey also has a tattoo of Fulton on his leg, which should give you a sense of how much he respects him.

Tito Ortiz makes prediction for Chuck Liddell rematch PPV buys
Tom Taylor - June 29, 2018
Tito Ortiz is expecting to make some serious money for his much-discussed trilogy fight with Chuck Liddell, which is likely to occur in Oscar De La Hoya’s new Golden Boy MMA promotion sometime later this year. “I think Chuck’s kind of holding out, trying to make more money out of it, which it just doesn’t make sense because this deal is pretty much a cut and dry contract,” Ortiz said of the fight on Submission Radio (transcribed Jed Meshew for MMA Fighting). “We’re both partners. De La Hoya wants his 40 percent and me and Chuck Liddell get to split 30 percent. So that’s on complete revenue of the whole fight in general. And this is the whole thing that I’ve been waiting for for such a long time in mixed martial arts, to really make a difference, and we’re gonna do that with De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions.”

Unfortunately for him, Saint Preux was ultimately able to recover and turn things around irrecoverably with a first-round submission victory. While this loss to Saint Preux was understandably very disappointing for Pedro, he’s determined to get right back into the cage, where he hopes to right his ship. He will not, however, be heeding the advice of the countless armchair coaches that offered him advice on social media post-fight.
